Light for Life Sefton Light For Life services is the first point of call for anyone in housing need in Southport / Sefton.

Light for Life is a registered charity run by a team of housing advisors who are happy to help!

On Saturday 19th September we are taking part in the Heritage open day at Holy Trinity Church Southport.
Light for Life has a long association with the church through founders, CEO and our Chaplaincy.

We look forward to meeting people and chatting about what we provide across the Borough - Housing Advice and support, Rough Sleeper Outreach, Intensive Support, Family Service, Health Inclusion Service and Release and Rebuild - our Offender Service.

Delighted to hear our name mentioned in Parliament earlier today. Also hopeful that Ministers will consider the barriers that are experienced by people with multiple complexities in accessing the pathways to accommodation - often repeating their sometimes traumatic and painful history repeatedly to fulfil the demands of the process whilst losing confidence. Looking forward to progressing the conversation

Excited that our Release and Rebuild Advisory partners are all poised to discuss release from prison, the needs of those with additional health and social needs, requirements for housing/accommodation and introductions to our staff supporting ex offenders in the community

We are very saddened to hear of the passing of Maureen Fearn last weekend.
Maureen was a Trustee at Light for Life for some time and made some valuable contributions to our service strategies.

We also attended the funeral last week of Dave Parry, a founder of Light for Life and member of the Board for many years.

They will be fondly remembered by all of us.

People leaving prison with no accommodation and no support from services is one of the contributing factors to rough sleeping. Light for Life's Release and Rebuild programme supports offenders through the gate in securing accommodation and engagement with health screening, ther**eutic support, counselling and ongoing help to settle again in the community.

Did you know that we work inside prisons to address the housing needs of those who are preparing for release?
We work specifically with people who are at a turning point in their lives and wishing to make a new start whilst potentially facing homelessness.
We work intensively with those people alongside a range of services such as Probation, Police and Adult Social Care to ensure that the best pathway is available to them and that the pathway is supported 😊

Our CEO has been asked for comments regarding our new Prime Minister's announcement that he intends to end rough sleeping in the UK:
Greta has stated that 'we are delighted that homelessness has been prioritised by his Government and look forward to seeing how this will impact on our own communities across Sefton. Along with other homelessness agencies, charities and organisations across the country - we are thankful for the energy he intends to put into this goal and for his commitment to ending homelessness'.
