We are The Free Clothes Store located within Lakeside Church in Southport in the North West of the Uk and we provide good quality free clothing, shoes and toiletries to anyone in need of some help in these difficult times.

Maybe you just need some help with everyday clothing for you or your children, or maybe you’d like some help with outfits for interview, or even a special occasion or prom that you would otherwise be unable to afford.

We would love to help, so why not get in touch by phone, email or social media message and we can arrange an appointment. Or you can drop in on Fridays 1-3pm at our drop in. All the details below. Please get in touch.

The Free Clothes Store offers good-quality, pre-loved clothing and shoes to those facing need or crisis. If you or someone you know is finding it difficult to afford clothes for themselves or their family right now, please don’t hesitate to get in touch.

We can arrange an appointment for you during the week, or you’re welcome to drop in on Fridays between 1pm and 3pm.

Apologies but we are not able to accept donations this week whilst we still try to get on top of current donations received and also turn our winter stock around to our summer stock.

And our team have had a very busy week this week helping those in Southport who need a helping hand and some support for themselves and their families with clothing, shoes and toiletries.

And we love it when we receive thankful feedback from our clients.

Huge thank you to Merseyside Police and Liverpool Crown Court for their generous donation to us here at The Free Clothes Store.

This money will be used to purchase brand new underwear, socks, pyjamas, toiletries and it will also be used towards the ongoing costs of providing this free service to our community.

Merseyside Police’s Operation Payback initiative continues to make a real difference by reinvesting money seized from criminals back into local communities.

Today, we’re shining a spotlight on Lakeside Church in , a place that provides vital support for people of all ages through family services, community groups, and outreach work. Its ethos centres on helping people navigate life’s challenges, offering connection, encouragement, and practical help.

💙 Thanks to funds recovered under the Proceeds of Crime Act, Lakeside Church has received over £8,000 to support its Free Clothes Store — a lifeline for individuals and families facing financial hardship.

The Free Clothes Store provides:
👚 Free clothing for adults and children
🧥 Coats, shoes & seasonal essentials
🧴 Toiletries and hygiene products
🤝 A safe, dignified, non‑judgemental environment for anyone in need

The store also supplies clothing bundles to mental health facilities and the Probation Service and even provides prom dresses and tuxedos for young people who may otherwise struggle to access formalwear.

Assistant Pastor Georgina Vernon said 🗣️ “I want to personally thank Liverpool Crown Court and Merseyside Police, for this incredibly generous donation to our Church. It will help us amongst other things, to run our Free Clothes Store. This support will make a very real and immediate difference to individuals and families in our community who are facing financial hardship and uncertainty.

“The Free Clothes Store is about more than clothes, it’s about restoring hope and showing people that their community cares. Support like this enables us to continue meeting real needs at a critical time.

“This money will help us extend compassion, restore dignity, and meet people at a point of real need.”
