The Cornerstone Library Churchtown The Cornerstone is Churchtown's community library. We're at the side of the Cornerstone Church. North Meols Library Association Charity. Join and become a member.

It's free to join, we have books for all ages, and you can get online, use our computers, print and photocopy. The Cornerstone Library, Churchtown is a volunteer-led community library providing access to books, computers and resources for residents in Churchtown and the wider Southport area. Founded by the North Meols Library Association in response to the closure of the council-run library, our j

ourney began in 2013 - powered by the passion and persistence of local volunteers. With the generous support of Cornerstone Methodist Church, who provided a space, we proudly opened our doors in October 2023, bringing vital library and community services back to the heart of Churchtown. Our mission is simple: to create a safe, welcoming space where people of all ages can learn, share, connect, and grow. We believe that literacy, lifelong learning, and community belong to everyone, and we're committed to keeping these values alive through our volunteer work, events, and services.

✨📖 Thursday at the library 📖✨

This morning we’re looking forward to welcoming our youngest visitors for Story & Rhyme Time at 10:15am. We hope our little bookworms are excited for stories, songs, and a cosy start to the day 👶💛

Alongside the stories and rhymes, it’s also a lovely opportunity for mums, dads, grandparents, and carers to meet, have a chat, and spend some time together.
There’s no need to book — just come along. It’s free to attend and everyone is very welcome.

📚 The library will be open from 1pm – 4pm this afternoon. A lovely time to browse, borrow, or enjoy a peaceful moment with a book.

🎉 And don’t forget — our fantastic volunteers will be out and about at some of our local schools’ summer fairs, this Saturday we are at Larkfield Primary School for Larkfest. They’re really looking forward to meeting everyone and sharing all the wonderful things about the library!
