Your opinions are needed please?
Don't just say it's bad; offer a better alternative if you have an idea. Just saying it's bad doesn't help.

Black lines can NOT be crossed.
If you imagine they are sheep pens (7 in total) each has access from ONE road the yellow wiggly lines.
The Red lines are the roads required to get from top to bottom or left to right if map.
Any questions?

There is much more information and conversations on how this plan should change for the better.

Thank you for your support so far

These are the proposed plans from sustrans.

They don't look to bad until you realise that the "Modal filters" are actual complete road blocks to cars/vans etc.

If the modal filter symbol is on a diagonal across the junction this means the junction will essentially be turned into two separate sections with access only allowed from one half or the other depending on which way your come in.
This specifically causes an issue on Prince's street where the proposed block (yellow line) will cause drivers coming from market Street to either drive down Prince's street the wrong direction or attempt a three point turn at the junction of Portland and Prince's, also bare in mind this junction will be split down the middle so even less room.

These road blockages will also force emergency services, bin lorry's and delivery vans/trucks to attempt to do three point turns at these road blockages as well as making all their journeys longer.

These blockages will also means subjects on bikes/motorbikes etc being chased by police need only head towards one of these modal filters and they can leave the police car behind them as bikes will be able to pass through these blockages easily where as cars (including emergency services) will not be able to pass.

These blocks are not a droppable post system them are proposed to be boulders or flower beds which will not be moveable for situation such as this.

There is two images of each area, the original and then an annotated version which shows the proposed blocks and directional blocks a little easier.
