🏆 We're proud to share that South Essex Homes has been named CSAS Organisation of the Year 2026 at the local CSAS (Community Safety Accreditation Scheme) Awards Ceremony led by Essex Police.

We're also delighted that one of our Housing Community Safety Officers and the Housing Community Safety team received Certificates of Recognition for their outstanding contributions to the CSAS scheme.

A huge thank you to all of our colleagues for their continued dedication to supporting residents and making our communities safer places to live.

Our Capital Programme is a programme of improvement works to make sure your home continues to meet the Decent Homes Standard.

🛠️ Examples of the improvements we carry out include fitting new kitchens and bathrooms, replacing windows and doors, electrical rewires, and more.

We know wreaths and door decorations can add a lovely touch to your home… but please don’t hang them on fire doors.

Fire doors are specially designed to slow the spread of fire and smoke, giving you and your neighbours vital time in the event of a fire. Hanging anything on them, even something small like a wreath, can affect how well they work in an emergency.

💡 Instead, try hanging your wreath indoors somewhere it won’t pose a risk. You’ll still get that seasonal charm, without compromising safety.

⏰ It's Testing Tuesday!

It is recommended to test your fire alarm every month, as a working fire alarm can save lives.

👉 To test yours, all you need to do is hold down the test button on the detector until it sounds. The alarm should be loud and heard throughout the home.

⚠️If you live in one of our Sheltered Housing schemes, you can rest assured that your fire alarm system is tested on a weekly basis and you do not need to do this yourself.
