It's Meadows' Day this Saturday, so why not mark it with a trip to a local meadow. And whilst meadows are great places to take a stroll, there's other ways you can enjoy them too...

Blackthorn and Hawthorn: Blackthorn flowers first before it's leaves appear, and Hawthorn goes into leaf before it flowers. Blackthorn has small simple leaves and and Hawthorn has lobed leaves. Blackthorn has the longer thorns of the two.

Vandalised trees on the river bank near the railway bridge. Sad that so many humans can't enjoy a place without damaging it.

Spotted a female Sparrowhawk that had just caught a blackbird on the playing field this evening.
