Swapping Sundays from study to packing and I'm all for it πŸ₯°

This is just a little note to say I will be enjoying some time away with my family this week πŸ’› so I may take slightly longer to respond to any enquiries.

Keep looking after each other πŸ’› and will catch up with you all soon. No doubt with lots of holiday spam 🀣

Woken up to the lovely news that I passed my first self study assignment for Naming Ceremonies with flying colours πŸ’›

My favourite part was researching the origins of our family names.

One lovely thing my Gran and Grandad did was give all their children surnames of relatives for their middle names. For example my mums is Macdonald and my Aunties is Hair. This way they were able to incorporate the whole village of people who made them who they are today πŸ’›

Have you ever researched your family name? Any interesting finds? If so do spill 🀣πŸ₯°πŸ’›

Share something you love about the person you missβ€¦πŸ’›

Today are encouraging us to remember those who have shaped who we are today πŸ₯°

It’s a day to honour, celebrate and come together, remembering those we love and miss. A happy day that lets us sit with our sadness too.

It’s takes part the last Monday of May, which is today πŸ™Œ So at at 7pm we will raise a glass together. Will you join me?

With all the glorious weather we're having β˜€οΈ my memory today is how on holiday all my Dad needed was a carrier bag 😊 inside his book, glasses and a bank style money bag with his kitty for the day. He'd give my Mum pocket money 🀣 and spent hours entertaining me by throwing peseta's (yes I'm that old 🀣) in the pool for me to dive for!

He'd sneak my sister and I to a pool bar on the way back from the beach without telling Mum 🀣 He'd have a cheeky pint, or two, whilst we were up and down the water slide and then he'd treat us to the best burgers πŸ” there for lunch.

Dad would always try the lingo and often mistaken for a local! He would always be involved in the kids clubs, wanting to spend as much time as possible with us. He even volunteered to be pushed into a swimming pool for a pirate ☠️ game they put on even though Dad couldn't swim!!

Being together on holiday was a VERY happy place for us all, I could go on forever with memories of us. On glorious days like today I miss having those times together. I miss seeing him at ease, his smile, his twinkle in his eye, his laugh and his singing.

Would love to hear yours πŸ’›

Xx

7 years ago today we did what every new family dreams of and we finally took our babies home after 5 weeks in NICU πŸ’›

Our boys arrived just shy of 10 weeks early spontaneously, it wasn't how we thought our parenthood journey would begin!

Saying that, from the start of us deciding we'd like a family things didn't go as we expected, it was definitely an adventure and one we're pleased we continue to still have together πŸ’›

Why the over sharing? 🀣 because its important to know the Celebrant you pick for your family. And the more you know the more informed you can be about whether I'm the right Celebrant for you.

Studying with two little people playing let's see how many pants we can throw up on the light, isn't something I'd personally recommend πŸ™ˆπŸ€£

But hearing their giggles, seeing their smiles and watching their cheekiness felt apt whilst exploring more about Naming Ceremonies πŸ₯°

If you're in need of a celebrant for funeral/celebration of life or Naming ceremonies please do reach out πŸ’› I promise my working environment isn't always this chaotic πŸ€£πŸ’›

Chapter 41 has arrived 🎈

Losing my Dad the day before my 40th birthday has impacted how I feel and want to spend the day πŸ’›

I used to love a birthday 🀣 mine and others πŸ₯° but at the moment mine doesn't feel like a day of celebrations when lots of other emotions are still at play.

This may ease over time, maybe I feel this way because it all still feels raw πŸ’›

So this is just a note to say, face anything like this the way that feels right for you, because theres no right or wrong when managing grief.

This year I chose to spend the day doing what has helped my mental and emotional health this last year... walking!

No fuss or frills but full of things good for my soul πŸ’›

This handsome chap is my Dad, my King, and a year ago today he took his final breath πŸ’”

Its been a tricky few weeks to navigate, remembering all of the events leading up to that life changing moment and grief itself has been a learning curve for me this past year too.

Why share this with you? Well its from losing Dad that I found my calling to become a Celebrant and wanting to focus on celebrations of life πŸ’› by losing my King I also found a place where I feel I can serve and add value to others.

I've also shared previously that for Dads celebration of life I wrote him a letter that I shared in the ceremony with those who loved him the most πŸ’› and this week I've written to him again, capturing everything all that has happened this year, all that he's missed, all that he would've been so very proud of. I've a feeling it'll be something I do every year from now on.

Life is hard without him, I miss him more than ever.

So I get it, I've felt every ounce of it, I can wholeheartedly empathise, I am honest and real about it. I CARE about it πŸ’› And if that speaks to you, perhaps I'll be the celebrant you reach out to when sadly a life chapter like this happens for you πŸ’›

Naming ceremonies module one self study complete and assignment answers submitted πŸ’›

I've positively surprised myself with how much I'm enjoying this area of celebrancy 😊 Don't get me wrong, I love everything they are and about, and I'm gratefully to be a guide parent myself πŸ₯° BUT its opened my eyes to a whole host more that I'm really excited for!!

So this week's study Sunday has been a success πŸ™Œ I'm looking forward to diving into the next section and broadening my knowledge and understanding even more and again grateful to be on this learning journey to enable me be the best celebrant to serve you πŸ’›

Gentle nod that I'm available for celebration of life ceremonies, ashes internment and naming ceremonies now. So if you feel I'm the right fit for you please say hi πŸ’›
