Lucy's is The Coral Bones by E.J. Swift.

How do you grieve for extinction?

The Coral Bones follows three women who are linked by their marine work. Hana witnesses an extreme eco-protest and must reconcile her feelings about it, as well as come to terms with the breakdown of her relationship. Judith persuades her father to allow her on his next voyage while navigating 19th-century misogyny despite her intelligence. Telma uses her work tracking endangered animals and illegal resurrections to avoid facing the death of her daughter.

For each of these women, their discovery and work with coral means something. For Hana, it represents hope for the future. For Judith, it' about exploring a world that should be for everyone, including future generations. For Telma, it provides purpose, which is both a commitment and an escape from the traumatic climate events her family has endured.

Lucy particularly enjoys Swift's character work. As the story unfolded, she could see how the characters influenced each other and how the connections we make keep each other strong. She also appreciated Swift's descriptions, finding them immersive and heartfelt, which makes her endings all the more emotional.

Another legend has sadly left us recently. Tim Curry was a larger than life performer that lent his voice to over 60 audiobooks throughout his career, including many of the titles in 'A Series of Unfortunate Events' by Lemony Snicket and more.

He brought several book characters to life, most notably Pennywise the Dancing Clown in the 1990 adaption of Stephen King's 'It'. He wrote about his extraordinary life in his memoir 'Vagabond'.

"I find there is something very intimate about being the voice in someone's ear when they're driving." - Tim Curry

We are deeply saddened by the passing of the great Dolly Parton. Despite gaining her fame as a country music superstar, Dolly had a deep passion for encouraging literacy skills, fostering children's love for reading and giving back to the community through her extensive charity work.

“Every book is a treasure and every time you open one up, you will meet new friends and take wonderful journeys to magical places.” - Dolly Parton
