Nigel Parkes, Managing Director of UK manufacturer SeaSafe Systems Ltd has handed over a bespoke SeaSafe FastNet recovery system for use aboard Southampton Lifeboat.

Southampton Lifeboat (part of Hamble Lifeboat) provide dedicated lifeboat cover for the upper reaches of Southampton Water and the Rivers Itchen and Test.

The FastNet system which will be carried aboard Southampton Lifeboat’s purpose-built inshore lifeboat was kindly donated by Duncan Wells, a volunteer with Hamble Lifeboat and owner of the MOB Lifesavers man-overboard recovery system.

Designed to assist with the safe recovery of people from the water, the SeaSafe FastNet provides the Southampton Lifeboat crew with an additional piece of specialist equipment when responding to incidents involving casualties in the water.

Nigel Parkes said: “We’re delighted to support Southampton Lifeboat with this bespoke FastNet recovery system. The work carried out by volunteer lifeboat crews is incredibly important, and we’re pleased that SeaSafe can provide bespoke equipment that may assist them in their lifesaving work.”

We all thank Duncan Wells and SeaSafe Systems Ltd for their generous support and for helping equip the lifeboat with specialist recovery equipment.

🎶 Shanties, songs of the sea, and a great cause! ⚓

A huge thank you to Southampton Salty Sea Dogs for organising this fantastic evening and choosing Hamble Lifeboat and Southampton Lifeboat as their chosen charities, with friends from Steam Town Shanty Crew joining them for a night of sea shanties, songs of the sea and plenty of good humour.

As independent lifeboat services, we rely entirely on the generosity of our supporters to keep our volunteer crews ready to respond when people need us most. Every ticket purchased helps support our work and the safety of those on the water.

Congratulations to former Hamble Lifeboat crew members Aaron Daniels and Rosie Geale ! ❤️

Aaron and Rosie met while volunteering with us, and their friendship grew into something very special. They’re now heading to the Pacific to get married and enjoy an extended honeymoon.

From everyone at Hamble Lifeboat, we wish you both a wonderful wedding, a fantastic adventure and a very happy future together. 🥂

The King & Queen, Hamble proudly present the return of The Hamble Duck Race, splashing back into the River Hamble with racing ducks ready to compete for glory, all in support of Hamble Lifeboat and Southampton Lifeboat.

Join us for a fun, family‑friendly afternoon on the waterfront as hundreds of bright yellow racers take to the river, all raising vital funds for our local lifesaving crews.
