Historia Normannis Southampton

Historia Normannis Southampton We are a local Southampton reenactment specialising in medieval combat and a part of the national Historia Normannis reenactment society.

We train on Southampton Common on Saturdays, 12 - 4pm - all are welcome! Historia Normannis is a 12th century re-enactment group, focusing primarily on the events between the reign of Henry I and King John. Historia Normannis prides itself as a society in bringing history to life in an historically accurate, engaging and exciting way. Our events and educational visits allow people to engage with history- seeing, feeling and hearing first-hand aspects of the lives and deaths of 12th century people- knights, freemen, craftsmen, ladies of the court and barons of the realm. From dynamic and exciting massed combat, knights displaying their prowess in the tourney, displays of archery, woodwork, metalworking, to the singing and music of the court of the time, Historia Normannis presents you the workings of 12th century life, and offers a history lesson that you will never forget!

We will not be training at Southampton Common for the next few weeks because our members will be attending reenactment shows at Glastonbury Abbey and Greystoke Castle.
