PBS4 We provide neurodisability services to adults in their own homes. Operating across Hampshire, Berkshire, Dorset, Oxfordshire, Somerset and the Isle of Wight.

Our Positive Behaviour Support (PBS) model of support helps people with learning disabilities achieve their ambitions and reduces the need for “challenging” behaviours using evidence-based approaches. We support people to live in

their own homes, with their own tenancies. Our CEO Jonathan Beebee is a registered Learning Disabilities Nurse and qualified Behaviour Analyst. We are a medium-sized organisation supporting 35 people across Hampshire, Dorset, Berkshire and Oxfordshire and with a workforce of just over 200.

Could you be part of a team that helps someone live a life that feels meaningful to them?

We’re looking for a Support Worker (internally known as an Enablement Practitioner) to join one of our amazing teams, supporting someone to live independently in their own home, build confidence and enjoy the things that matter to them!

This is a truly person-centred role. It’s about getting to know the person you support, understanding what’s important to them and being there to encourage, enable and support them in everyday life.

We’re looking for someone who is resilient, calm, outgoing and experienced, with the confidence to support emotional regulation, social situations and personal development.

If you’re passionate about making a real difference in someone’s life and want a role where the support you provide genuinely matters, we’d love to hear from you!

Role details:
📍 Bournemouth, Dorset
💷 £15.69 per hour + £90 per sleep-in shift
🕐 36 hours per week – days or 42 hours per week – waking nights
⏰ Shift hours: 08:00–20:00 or 20:00–08:00
🚗 Full UK driving licence required

Professor Dame Uta Frith's recent comments have reignited debate about autism and whether the spectrum has become too broad.

Our latest blog suggests we're asking the wrong question.

Rather than focusing solely on diagnosis, we should be asking: What does this diagnosis mean for the person's everyday life?

Diagnosis is important, but it doesn't tell us someone's strengths, challenges or support needs. We explore why services need to move beyond labels and better understand functional impact, ensuring support is based on individual need.
