Have your say on New Forest District Council's budget proposals
New Forest District Council is inviting residents to share their views as it looks at ways to save money and plan for the future.
Like many organisations, the council is facing rising costs due to inflation, alongside changes to how government funding is distributed. It is seeking feedback on proposals affecting a range of services, including community grants, business waste, grounds maintenance, information office opening hours, public toilets and sustainability.
The consultation is an opportunity to find out more about the proposals and share your views before any decisions are made.

Scottish Electricity Networks has moved to a weather warning ahead of Storm Austin predicted to arrive on Friday/Saturday.

Customer Notice

Due to Firework Night, the Centre will be closing early at 3:30pm on Sunday 1st November.

Please note that our main car park will be closed all day on Sunday. Visitors can use the rugby car park opposite for parking.

The Pond will also be closed from 12 Noon.

Thank you for your cooperation, and we apologise for any inconvenience caused.

Southern Water – Essential Water Main Works

Please be advised that Southern Water and their contractors, Clancy, will be carrying out essential works within the Horse Field opposite Gang Warily Entrance to allow a new major water main pipe to be installed.

The works are due to commence today, Tuesday 8 September, and you will notice an increase in activity around Gang Warily Recreation Centre.

During the works, there will be increased HGV movements, machinery, contractors and other vehicles entering and leaving through the main gate. Please take extra care when entering Newlands Road and be aware of moving vehicles and machinery.

The works are essential to enable the installation of the new major water main and are expected to form part of a larger project running through to March 2027. The main pipelaying works within the paddock are currently expected to take place later in the project, with the area being used from September to establish the working area.

We appreciate that the increased activity and vehicle movements may cause some disruption, and we thank all allotment holders for their patience and cooperation while these essential works are carried out.

Please take extra care when using the main entrance and follow any instructions given by the contractors while works are underway.
