Congratulations to Cpl Braham, who has been awarded the Felix Fund Top Student Coin by Maj C Parsons RLC following her outstanding performance on the RLC Ammunition Technician Class 1 Course.

This presentation marks a significant milestone as it is the very first Felix Fund Top Student Coin to be awarded. The coin has been created to recognise exceptional achievement, professionalism and dedication among students undertaking some of the most demanding training within the Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) and Search communities.

Going forward, these coins will be presented to top-performing students across a range of EOD and Search courses at the Defence EOD, Munitions and Search (DEMS) Training Regiment.

Felix Fund is incredibly proud to sponsor this initiative, helping to celebrate excellence and recognise those who demonstrate the highest standards of commitment and expertise in their chosen field.

Well done, Cpl Braham, on a remarkable achievement and on becoming the first recipient of what we hope will become a long-standing tradition of recognising excellence across the EOD and Search community.

RLC Sports Awards Success!

A huge congratulations to SSgt Haywood‑Swift on being awarded Coach of the Year at the RLC Sports Awards. A fantastic achievement and well‑deserved recognition for the dedication, commitment and impact made through coaching.

Congratulations also to Sgt Stanley, who finished 3rd in the same category; another outstanding achievement and a testament to the high standard of coaching within the Corps.

Further recognition goes to LCpl Stephen Harris, who was nominated for Sporting Ethos for his exceptional work in Brazilian Jiu‑Jitsu, and to SSgt Bray, who received a nomination for Sports Administrator of the Year. Although neither made the podium, both categories were fiercely contested, and their nominations alone highlight the calibre of talent and commitment within the Corps.

It’s fantastic to see members of the Ammunition Technician trade receiving recognition for their sporting achievements at Corps level, showcasing the dedication, professionalism and drive that extends well beyond the workplace.

On Sunday 21 June, North Wales Police received reports of a suspicious item located high on Glyder Fach mountain near Tryfan, Wales.

An EOD response from 521 EOD Sqn, Chester Troop was deployed, and due to the challenging conditions and fading light, specialist support was requested from the RAF Valley Mountain Rescue Team. Their expertise and capability enabled the EOD team to safely ascend in pitch-black conditions to reach the summit.

Once at the location, the incident was handed over and the item was dealt with safely by the EOD Team.

This Operation is a great example of the importance of interoperability between emergency services and specialist teams. By working together, sharing skills, and supporting each other in challenging environments, we were able to achieve a safe and successful outcome.

A huge thank you to the RAF Valley Mountain Rescue Team for their professionalism, commitment, and support in making this mission not only safe, but also a success.
