We've taken a break from social media for various reasons but still been very busy. Richard fully repainted the mill last year. He has been working on ironwork for the sails over the winter and plans to start on the sail timbers in the Spring. (Photos from the recent snowy weather, 2025 repainting and some work-in-progress in the workshop)

Happy Christmas everyone and Best Wishes for 2022!

The work to get the new cap ready to go onto Stracey Arms Mill has been fairly all-consuming this year. That project finishes next year and attention will then be firmly focused back here at South Walsham. (Photo from February 2018)

Early Christmas present idea? We are very proud to see the mill on the cover of a new Norfolk Mills calendar produced by Newsight Photography and Norwich Print Solutions. Available in black and white or colour options (different pictures in each). £1 from each calendar sold is being donated to Norfolk Windmills Trust who care for some of the mills included within. The calendar should be available in local outlets soon. The Trust also has a supply to sell which will benefit them further. The calendars are £9.50 each + p&p. Email [email protected] for further details/to order.

In a normal year, it would have been our Summer open day today. Instead, we've been tackling some painting. Also, it's been a bit slow this year but our flower strip/nectar bar has finally come out in full bloom. It's a cornfield mix this year.

We've loosened up on grass cutting this year and currently have a nice expanse of (mainly) clover - it seems to be much appreciated by the bees!
