We’re delighted to be hosting Whatever the Weather with the brilliant Meredith Towne at Armstrong Hall, South Shields — and booking is now open to everyone!

🎭 Culture Club – Harbour Lights Christmas Meal
Tues 10th Dec
29 booked with 1 official place remaining.
If we reach 30 and more people want to join, we’ll need to request extra spaces before payment.
Final payment deadline: Wed 3rd Dec (our December meeting).

🍷 Wine & Food – The French Quarter
Fri 12th Dec, 1:15pm
No wine club meeting this month, but 7 of us are heading to The French Quarter.
Still room for 1 more!

🎄 Book Club Christmas Meal

Booked and paid for (8 attending), but we can likely add more if anyone else would like to join.

No December kits available other than the bauble kits ready for pickup.

Well what a fabulous afternoon we had at the Customs House watching Love Actually followed by a beautiful afternoon tea. The Customs House did a great job of looking after us all and getting all that food out to 89 of us ☕️🍰. They also did a fabulous job of decorating the room for us. I’m sure I’m not alone in saying it put us right in the Christmas spirit 🎄
It was lovely to see so many of you there today as well as your guests and ladies from other WIs. I really hope you enjoyed your afternoon.
Well done to all of you that won a prize in the raffle while helping us to raise funds for our members.

8 of us gathered today to lay a wreath on behalf of our members at the Remembrance Day service held by the Mission to Seafarers at Mill Dam. The weather wasn’t very kind to us so not everyone made it onto the photos.
Thank you to Mary for laying the wreath for us, and to all those that came along.
We were welcomed into the Mission afterwards where we gathered together for refreshments and a bit of a catch up.

Our very own Sarah gave us a very interesting talk in our November meeting. It was a great insight into a world few of us know about. It’s comforting to know that so much care goes into our safety while travelling.

I’d like to offer a big welcome to the new members that joined us this month. I hope you enjoy your time with us at Sisters of Shields WI.

Due to illness, we will be doing a quiz tomorrow instead of our planned speaker ( you’d better get your thinking caps on 😁).

We have also put together a little crafting session for anyone who would like to partake and there’ll be plenty of time for some socialising too which I think will be nice 😊

🕯️ Canny Crafters – Wed 29th Oct at The County Pub, Sunderland Rd. This month we’re making Christmas candles with a twist (£2 materials charge).

A lovely day on Sunday with a couple of our members Nicola and Wendy along with Nicola’s son and my granddaughter, supporting the at the Great North Run.
I’m a little hoarse now with aching legs but it was well worth it 😁🏃‍♀️

Evening ladies,
what a busy meeting we had after our summer break 😅 it was good to see such a big turnout.

First of all I’d like to say how thrilled I am to have been re-elected. As I said last night it’s a role I’ve really enjoyed to date and I’m looking forward to the year ahead.

I’m excited for you all to see the new programme in October, there are lots of things in there that have been suggested by members so there should be something for everyone 😁

One of our lovely members Yvonne provided us with our birthday cake (which was delicious) so thank Yvonne it was much appreciated 🎂

Huge thanks to the committee for their hard work last night, AGMs are always a bit stressful,and special thanks to Margaret Carter for giving up her time to officiate for us. Also thanks to Diane for organising the beetle drive (I still didn’t get to play 😆) ###
