South Shields School

South Shields School South Shields School is a co-educational, 11-16 school. Our building is world class and the accommodation enables us to offer exceptional learning experiences.

We have three colleges, Herschel, Davy and Swan, named after famous scientists and inventors connected with light. Students are allocated a college on entry and college life will be a key part in ensuring all students develop a sense of self-awareness to become reflective and resilient learners. College life builds a sense of community and identity across year groups through involvement in charity

work, competitions and student voice. College life is a pivotal part of student personal development.
