What a day.
Our 1918 Tynemouth Lifeboat, Henry Frederick Swan, is having a good day. With extensive work by our volunteers, she's starting to show considerable progress.
NEMT has also received new certificates of authentication from National Historic Ships for both the Henry Frederick Swan and the Bedford lifeboat, which is also part of the UK's National Historic Fleet.

At the North East Maritime Trust not only do we maintain and restore historical boats such as cobles and the incredible Henry Frederick Swan lifeboat we also sail them.

If you want to be part of the crew, helping to keep traditional seamanship and fellowship very much alive you can join us on weekends aboard our historic cobles this summer.

Members can enjoy experiences that are quite different from modern sailing.

Whether it’s spotting dolphins offshore, trying a little fishing, or simply enjoying good company everyone is welcome.
