South Molton Carnival

❗️IMPORTANT NOTICE. CARNIVAL 2026 CANCELLED❗️

Due to the A377 road closure scheduled for September 14th to December 18th 2026, and the fact that Mill st and New Rd in South Molton will be used as a diversion route, the Carnival, unfortunately cannot go ahead this year.
As a committee we’re obviously really disappointed as we’ve already spent a lot of time planning this years event.
We will arrange refunds for those businesses who kindly bought pages in our Carnival Brochure this year.
Our fundraiser quiz will still go ahead tomorrow evening at Bar 27.
All proceeds will go to The Rotary Club for the charities they support.
All being well, we’ll be back next year.
We have no further information regarding the road closure and the Carnival date can’t be changed now as there isn’t enough time.

2 more fundraising events for your diaries

Last year we managed to raise enough money for all the rides in the pannier market to be free for the children to use on carnival day!
This year it is our hope to be able to offer this again as we know how expensive a family day/ night out can be.
We can only do this if we are supported in our fundraising so please, if you can, buy a raffle ticket, donate a prize, advertise in our brochure or book a table at one of these 3 fundraising evenings at Bar 27! The hub of all things Carnival.
The carnival can’t happen without your help 😊

Thank you all for your suggestions for a theme for this years Carnival.
We have decided on “Through the decades” as this hopefully will open it up to many ideas.
We can’t wait to see what you come up with for the procession.
We urge you to get your thinking caps on and enter this year whether on foot, bikes, skateboards, ponies, in cars, tractors and trailers or larger vehicles!
We’d really like to make this years Carnival an amazing spectacle and encourage you to decorate vehicles to walk beside if you aren’t actually riding on them.
Entry forms will soon be available to download or collect from a few places in the town.

South Molton Carnival is on Saturday September 26th this year at 6pm.
We’re asking for suggestions for a theme and invite you to leave your ideas in the comments below.
The winning theme will be announced on Monday April 27th.
We hope you will all support this years Carnival and attend fundraising events, volunteer in some way, participate in the parade and above all come out on the day of the Carnival and enjoy yourselves!
Please keep your eye on this page for all updates!
