We’re delighted to share that our COO and Co-Founder, Sofia Younis, has been shortlisted for the BPA Empowering Women Awards 2026 in the Business Woman of the Year category.

Sofia has dedicated over 30 years to improving outcomes for children, young people, and families through her leadership in paediatric nursing, fostering, adoption, residential care, and specialist support services.

Under Sofia’s leadership, Serenity Specialist Care was recently Highly Commended at the Solihull Civic Honours Awards 2026 in the Community Parenting category, recognising the organisation’s positive impact on children, young people, and the wider community.

Alongside her work in social care, Sofia is Practice Director at MADE Architecture (MADE Group), an award-winning practice recognised for excellence, innovation, and its commitment to delivering meaningful community impact through design and a approach.

Her passion for making a difference extends beyond her professional roles through charity work, volunteering, and supporting local communities.

We are hiring an experienced Deputy Manager for a Children’s Residential Care Home in Leicester, with potential growth into the Registered Manager role.

This is a leadership position supporting the Registered Manager in the day-to-day running of the home, leading and developing the staff team, and ensuring high standards of care, safeguarding, and compliance for children and young people with Emotional and Behavioural Difficulties (EBD).

We are seeking a motivated and experienced professional who is ready to take the next step in their and make a real difference in the lives of children and young people.

Requirements

✔ Minimum 2 years’ experience in a supervisory role within children’s residential care (or a closely related setting)
✔ NVQ Level 3 in Children & Young People (essential), with a willingness to work towards or complete NVQ Level 5 in Leadership for Health and Social Care
✔ Strong knowledge of safeguarding and Children’s Homes Regulations
✔ Full UK driving licence (preferred)

This is more than just a Deputy Manager position – it offers a clear pathway to Registered Manager.
