For the safety of your baby, it is important to take advice from safe sleep professionals 🧑‍⚕️

Things you can do:
-Clean your baby’s nose and mouth of snot and dribble
-Clear your baby’s sleep space of loose bedding, toys, and pillows
-Place your baby to sleep on a firm, flat, separate space
-Always place your baby on their back to sleep
-Keep your baby’s chin off their chest

Things to avoid:
-Loose bedding that could cover your baby’s face, risking overheating or suffocation
-Placing your baby to sleep on their tummy or side
-Having your baby fall asleep in a sitting position - if this happens, move them onto their back on a clear, flat, firm surface

The Lullaby Trust is a charity which specialises in baby safety advice and bereavement support

It can be a difficult topic to discuss, but understanding what can cause sudden infant death syndrome (SIDS) reduces the risk of it happening and helps to keep your baby safe
