In October 2011 Farnham Common became one of the first libraries within Buckinghamshire to transition to Community Library status, where all library services are organised and run by unpaid local volunteers. The library has charitable trust status controlled by Friends of the Library with a management committee elected annually by the Friends. If you would like to contribute to the running of the

library please consider joining our team by volunteering or by making a donation to the library. We work in the same way as a County Library and books can be returned to any other library in the Buckinghamshire County system. We pride ourselves on being a valuable resource within the community. We offer a wide range of brand new fiction and non-fiction titles, PCs with internet access, free wi-fi, photocopying, laminating, magazines and newspapers as well as introductory internet access classes. We also have a wide programme of events, outings, book club and regular children's activities.

Book now at the library for our ever-popular Quiz night, taking place on Friday 16th October.
Join us for a "bit of fun" social evening hosted by our popular Quizmasters. Make up a team of up to 8 with your friends, family, or neighbours, and bring along your thinking caps. Or book in pairs or singles and we will put you into a team. Lasagne, garlic bread and salad is included in the price. Please bring your own w**e, b**r, soft drinks, etc. nibbles and glasses. Also don't forget to bring a £1 for the 'Heads & Tails' game.
Friends of FCCL: £18 per person
Non-friends: £20 per person
Doors open 7pm, Quiz starts at 7:30pm sharp.

Now the weather's changing its time to hunker down with a good book. So it's great we have had donations of kids books from board books to teen fiction which are now on the shelves. These include the Felicity Wishes series, some new Anthony Horowitz titles for older readers, and novel in verse "We wait for the stars" by Bridget Hamilton, 'a highly relatable and poignant story about a young girl's journey with grief while navigating friendship, lost dreams and first love'. Find these all in the library now - at least until someone else checks them out!

A group of crafters have been meeting to knit and crochet poppies for the Windsor Parish Church Project - so far, we have made 558!
Our next get-together will be in the library on the 3rd September from 10am - 12pm and our final session will be on 25th September from 10am - 12pm. If you would like to come along, please contact Glenys on 07584 239681.

Our next Craft Morning will be on Thursday 24th September - Botanical printing and more.
Come and join us to try your hand at printing and tataki-zome (or plant
bashing) on to paper or fabric to create your own work of art. No experience
necessary, no rules just enjoyment.
We aim to make a gift bag, label, gift card and produce a printed piece of
fabric.
This is a bookable event and numbers are limited so pop in to the library and
book your place to avoid disappointment.
£10 Friends of FCCL £12 Non- Friends
Includes all materials, coffee and cake.
Please not we have extended the length of the session to allow plenty of time
to complete the project.
