Heckington is situated in the area of the south of Lincolnshire on the east coast of England and close to the Wash in the North Sea. The Parish supports a population of some 3,500 with most residents living in the Village and with a few hundred in the surrounding rural area.

The Parish area of 5,300 acres consists mainly of flat agricultural land (although the Village of Heckington is on slightly higher ground) and enjoys a very peaceful rural landscape.

The nearest larger urban settlements include Lincoln (twenty miles), Boston (ten miles) and Sleaford (six miles).

What a wonderful event at the playing field on Saturday to celebrate Her Majesty the Queen's 90th birthday. It just shows what can be achieved when everyone works together as a community. Yvonne and her team are to be congratulated on creating such an experience with a lovely atmosphere. Well done to all involved.
