RAFAC is made up of two areas:

Air Training Corps - The ATC is the RAF's cadet force, divided into six regions, 34 wings and more than 900 squadrons within communities around the UK. Combined Cadet Force (RAF) - The CCF (RAF) is our section of the CCF which is made up of cadets from all three services, coming together in approximately 200 independent and state schools across the country

1. We are a youth organisation and while we are happy to receive positive and negative feedback on the organisation, negative comments directed at cadets appearing in our content will not be tolerated.

2. We will feature content of our cadets and volunteers which will often only have one name in it. This is to protect their privacy and security. Please refrain from adding further personal details about these individuals even if well intentioned.

3. No hate speech or bullying. We have a zero tolerance response to any comments that are deemed to be offensive, degrading or bigoted against things like race, religion, culture, gender, sexual orientation, gender or identity.

4. No promotions spam or irrelevant links.

Rose|Dragon 2026 saw cadets from across Wales & West taking on challenges, learning new skills, pushing themselves outside their comfort zones and, most importantly, having a brilliant time together.

From fieldcraft and first aid to leadership, teamwork and plenty of memorable moments, there was something for everyone.

400 cadets. Countless memories. One unforgettable camp.

We’re delighted to officially welcome Group Captain Fry to North Region.

He’s already looking forward to getting out across the Region, meeting our cadets and volunteers, and seeing first-hand the incredible activities taking place across our Wings.

“I am thrilled to finally be here and start to understand the role and get to know all the great people across the Region. I’m excited to get out and about next week to the Wings and start to plan visits to activities in the months ahead to meet cadets, staff and volunteers - It’s a real privilege to be here.” - Group Captain Fry

Minister for Veterans and People, Calvin Bailey MBE MP visited RAF Waddington yesterday where he met some of our cadets and volunteers. The former RAF Atlas and Hercules pilot tried our VR simulators, piloted one of our training drones and looked at some of our digital poverty solutions to see how we deliver modern training solutions to our cadets as part of the career enhancing opportunities that our fantastic volunteers provide on camp and squadron.

✈️ 611 Volunteer Gliding Squadron returns to the skies at RAF Honington! 🌤️

We are thrilled to share that 611 VGS has officially resumed flying operations at RAF Honington!
Following approval from AOC 22 Group, the team hit the ground running with a busy first week back in August, delivering Gliding Scholarships and Advanced Glider Training (AGT) for our Royal Air Force Air Cadets.

Highlights from the week included:

🥇 Sgt Amy Curtis receiving her AGT Gold Wings, presented by Chief Flying Instructor, Flt Lt Dan Easton

🏅 Additional Silver and Gold Wings awarded, alongside new Grade One qualifications so pilots can begin taking cadets on Gliding Induction Flights!

🛫 A special visit from Station Commander RAF Honington, Wg Cdr Hinde, who took to the air with Cadet Warrant Officer Russellcook.

A huge thank you to the team at 611 VGS, Central Gliding School, 2 FTS and RAF Honington for their dedicated support in making this return possible. Here’s to safely launching many more cadets skywards in the months ahead! 🚀
