Our Education, Resettlement, Health and Wellbeing Open Day in the Station Learning Centre and Wellbeing Garden was a huge success this week.

With a wide range of interactive stalls, attendees had the opportunity to explore everything from further education and career pathways to fitness demonstrations and inspiring guest speakers. The event featured a raffle in support of the Nottinghamshire & Lincolnshire Air Ambulance raising over £1000 and starred the infamous Twinkle, the Well Being Pony.

We were also delighted to welcome a variety of organisations and educational providers, including Universities and Local Colleges.

Events like this continue to highlight the opportunities available to support development, transition, and wellbeing across the RAF Cranwell community.

We were delighted to welcome our colleagues from across Defence, partner agencies, local leaders and friends and neighbours from our local community who support us throughout the year.

Following a warm welcome from the Station Commander, guests explored a range of interactive stands highlighting RAF Cranwell’s capabilities and the vital role we play in Defence.

The evening concluded with a stirring performance from the RAF College Band, followed by a Tutor flypast from No. 6 Flying Training School.

RAF College Cranwell were delighted to welcome members of the Cranwellian Association for their Annual Reunion on the 6–7 June 2026. Over the weekend members enjoyed a full programme, including a Station Heritage Centre Tour, insightful RAF briefings and a formal dinner with the Chief of the Air Staff, Air Chief Marshal Sir Harv Smyth KCB OBE DFC ADC MA RAF as the Guest of Honour. The Reunion concluded with a church service at St Micheal’s Church on Sunday morning which provided a fitting opportunity for reflection and remembrance.

Over a weekend in early May, teams gathered at the North Airfield, RAF Cranwell for the RAF Cranwell Development Polo Tournament, competing for the Martyn Bebbington Memorial Trophy.

The RAF Cranwell home team once again lifted the trophy in a closely contested and enjoyable tournament, while Sqn Ldr Hoogewerf of the RAF Spitfires earned Most Valuable Player.

It was a fantastic, friendly weekend of polo, showcasing the sport at its best against the stunning backdrop of the RAF College.

Group Captain McAllister, Comdt 6FTS has recently signed an extension to LAFT 2 which secures a further four years of support from Babcock International Group to 6 FTS, Army Flying Grading and RN Grading.

The LAFT2 contract is fundamental to fixed-wing elementary flying training, underpinning aircrew generation across the RAF and wider Defence, delivered through a wide range of Defence sites.

This extension ensures vital continuity and stability, enabling Defence to meet both current and future aircrew training demands.
