Stolen quad bike located - thank you for your vigilance last night! 👀

A quad bike - stolen from a barn in a rural location north of Skipton - was recovered less than half an hour after it was taken.

Shortly before midnight last night (4 June), North Yorkshire Police received a report that the quad had been stolen minutes earlier, after thieves lifted a heavy barn door off its hinges.

Officers made towards the area immediately, and further information started to come in from Rural Watch volunteers - members of the public who act as the eyes and ears of the police in the countryside.

The quad was found abandoned a short distance away. It has been recovered for forensic examination, and an investigation to locate those responsible is underway.

We understand how crucial quad bikes and other farm equipment are in our rural communities - so we encourage residents to continue to take appropriate security measures, and report any suspicious activity to us immediately.
