Staveley Nature Reserve in the village of Staveley (obviously!) between Minskip / Boroughbridge and Scotton is a stunning place for a walk.

Managed by the Yorkshire Wildlife Trust there are pram friendly paths, information boards and even a huge (and I mean huge) bird hide that you can go in to watch all the birds.

There are a number of paths you can take to walk around the ponds and along the river which will easily take a few hours.

Free car park too 🙌

A total hidden gem!

Suitable for all ages, there’s loads to do for little ones and big ones at Cononley Park.

The little road with markings around the playground is super cute and he loves zooming round then down the little hill towards the band stand.

The playground has a sand pit area, slide, tunnel, swing, tractor, roundabout and a hugeeee climbing frame with slide which he did manage to get up with a little help.

The big ones can zoom off on their scooters play on the football pitch, in and out of the basketball court and on the skate park.

Hours of free fun!

Plus they can watch the many trains go past.

Top park! Give me your best local ones?

Revisited this little gem of a walk over the summer.

A fab short walk which is pram friendly if you stick to the main paths.

There are lots of little side paths to explore the moors though if you didn’t have a pram with you.

Either way it’s a brilliant walk, plenty of rest stops, views and loads of ducks (just don’t feed them).

Free parking, and a maze for the kids!!

Let me know if you need the details.

Not actually sure what to say about The Forbidden Corner - Official !

For anyone that’s been you will know what I mean! For those that haven’t you NEED to go to find out what in the world it’s all about!

The strangest, weirdest, mismatch of crazy stuff going on. Twists, turns, doors to nowhere, tunnels to somewhere, surprises and scares round every corner.

It will take you around 3 hours to do properly including using the app to find the hidden coins.

Save this for the Halloween special too!

A brilliant day out!

The trail features six waterfalls located on the River Twiss and River Doe:

💙Pecca Falls
💙Hollybush Spout
💙Thornton Force
💙Beezley Falls
💙Rival Falls
💙Snow Falls

£11 per adult to enter but it is well maintained and there is plenty of car parking

Studfold Adventure Trail is the most magical trail for kids in the most beautiful setting.

Curated by the family at Studfold who have lived there for centuries, the adventure trail brings together excitement, curiosity, imagination, education and of course the great outdoors.

There is definitely no other trail like this around that’s for sure. With something for everyone, from the littlest to the eldest. Clues to find, riddles to solve, codes to crack, rabbits to count, gates to unlock escape room style and that’s all before you spend time fascinated by the fairy houses and full on playing.

This trail will tire them out that’s for sure!

The playground is brilliant, the go karts are fun, the den building is frustrating (!) and the rest is just magical.

Cafe, cake, lunch, icecreams or take your own picnic. You really can make a day of it. Minimum amount of time would be 2.5 hours to get round and that’s rushing.

Have you discovered the magic of Studfold yet? If not get it on your list!!

Only a few weekends left this year before it closes for the winter.

One of our favourite walks to do in Embsay is around the reservoir.

At just over a mile long this circular walk is great for little ones.

Plenty to see for them, great views and if you go on a weekend you may spot the boats out on the water.

Mix of terrain so prepare for a bit of mud in parts and after rain the puddles on the track are huge! Make sure you walk anti-clockwise so that they are drenched at the end of the walk rather than the start!

Free car park and lots in the village for after including the park and pump track.
