If you know you know.

The kids favourite park…

My least favourite park.

And every time I forget it’s there, and every time they get soaked then complain about having to walk home wet through.

Always a beautiful walk here.

A gorgeous short stroll from the Grassington car park down the drystone wall lined path to the spectacular Linton Falls.

Head over the bridge and up to the hydro electric plant to throw stones in the water before walking a loop round the fields either down to the stepping stones and back via Linton Church or the other way towards Grassington bridge and up into the village.

Ideal toddler walk 👍🏻

The Alnwick Garden is certainly an attraction that should be done whilst you are in Northumberland. But be aware that the Castle, the Gardens and Lilidorei are separate attractions and therefore you pay to visit each.

On this occasion we purchased a combo ticket that got us the Garden and Lilidorei at The Alnwick Garden so it was a pretty expensive day out.

That being said the Gardens are lovely and there is quite a bit to do if the weather is on your side.

The main thing is the fountains plus additional water sculptures so make sure you have a change of clothes and a towel as the kids (and maybe you!) WILL get soaked.

The gardens are stunning and at different times of the year, as you can imagine, certain areas are the highlight. In the summer the rose gardens look delightful, but I have always wanted to see the cherry blossom in the Spring.

For kids there are ride on tractors, a sand pit, plenty of space to run around and the willow tunnel maze. There are trails on for the kids which change up regularly. On our last visit there was a Wind in the Willow theme on with stations set up around the grounds, plus a Shuan the Sheep trail and a augmented reality animal trail (but make sure you download these augmented reality apps before visiting as there is no WiFi to download there).

There is a cafe on site but i would advise you to take a picnic!

A fab day out for everyone.

A long one for me was this one but it’s surprisingly how fast you can walk and how far you can get with no kids in sight!

Parking at Barden Bridge in the layby (or on the road alongside the Priest House) for free this walk just follows the river.

From Barden Bridge head downstream past the aqueduct, through the bluebell woods, past the Cavendish, through the ford (or footbridge) continuing on the top path towards the Priory. If your brave head across the stepping stones, if not then the bridge, and keep following the river downstream to the Devonshire Hotel.

Pit stop in Abbey tearooms before returning back. Took a slightly different path back but you can mix it up on sections so you aren’t fully retracing your steps.

The walk back through Strid Wood was as gorgeous as ever.

A fab 8 miles in the bag 🙌

An adrenalin fuelled day out for us all!

Top tip: layers! And plenty of them especially on your feet.

We had such a fab time in the Snow Park at The Snow Centre Manchester (formerly Chill Factore).

The boys loved it! They were was fearless! Couldn’t believe they were straight on it all, no hesitation.

A challenging 6km walk but worth every drop of sweat!

Doing the route up from Howgill instead of Bolton Abbey will save your legs and about 2 hours! It is very uphill from the start but once up onto the moors it’s totally worth it.

The route starts from Love Brownies / Howgill Lodge and follows the track up.

The stones up there are great for exploring, there’s a trig point AND you can finish with a celebratory brownie at the end!

Let me know if you need the walk details.

Not actually sure what to say about The Forbidden Corner - Official !

For anyone that’s been you will know what I mean! For those that haven’t you NEED to go to find out what in the world it’s all about!

The strangest, weirdest, mismatch of crazy stuff going on. Twists, turns, doors to nowhere, tunnels to somewhere, surprises and scares round every corner.

It will take you around 3 hours to do properly including using the app to find the hidden coins.

A brilliant day out!

On the outskirts of Leeds you’ll find Golden Acre Park. A great area for a pram friendly walk.

I last visited in the Spring and it was gorgeous with it all starting to bloom.

Lots of different parks to explore from woodland, the lake and the formal gardens. Plenty of the paths are accessible so it makes it a great place to walk in the winter as you know the paths are good. You can do some ‘off piste’ walking too to explore but it can get muddy in areas.

Next door is Adel Nature Reserve which also looked like it had lots going on? If anyone knows this area well please enlighten me!

Plus there are toilets and a cafe.

Great trip out 👍🏻

Kettlewell Park has had a little upgrade since our last visit.

The boys loved playing there and there’s loads to keep them entertained from the huge climbing frame with nets to the smaller toddler friendly one. Both with slides for speeding down. Swings, an obstacle course and bouncy springy bike meant they did not want to leave when it was time for a roast dinner.

The views are amazing too 💚

The park is down Conistone Lane if you were wondering!

A T T E R M I R E S C A R 💛

This epically wonderful walk is Attermire Scar circular. 8 glorious miles of typically beautiful Yorkshire Dales territory around Settle.

This walk has got it all… caves, waterfalls, stepping stones, trig point, hill climbs, riverside, views, views, and did I mention views?

Whether it was all that, the wonderful company or the wonderful weather… either way it was pretty wonderful!

If you want the route details let me know.
