Hello all,

I hope that you’ve all had a lovely wknd and are heading into next week with a full heart and rested mind 💚

We begin with another Bible verse following our theme of generosity, this week taken from Luke 6:38 💫 followed by a lovely thought from the literary legend himself, Roald Dahl 🌞

We have a couple of events coming up in September, including our meet the teacher meetings (21st), non uniform day (18th) and Macmillan coffee morning (25th) ☕️😊

We look forward to seeing you all tomorrow for another lovely week 😊 Breakfast club (7.45) Free breakfast club (8.15) and school of course at 8.45am 💚💚 Punctuality starts the day off in the right way!

Happ Roald Dahl day to you! 💚
I grew up reading and loving Roald Dahl books. From the BFG and Charlie and the Chocolate factory to Matilda and one of my favourites George’s Marvellous Medicine 🤣 I have also had the pleasure of teaching them to children in my classes with some of the best writing coming from his books! 🤩 It would be lovely to get our children reading and experiencing the joy and sometimes little bit of naughtiness that he brings to his books 🤣 Let’s have a little challenge 💫

The first challenge of the year - Read a Roald Dahl book to or with your child before October half term, send me a picture of the book that they have read, get them to pop along to my office to tell me their favourite part and for a Headteacher award 🥇 and a little treat 💚💫

What a wonderful week Reception have had! We have focused on the book, The Colour Monster. We have talked all about our feelings and what we can do to help us if we feel a certain way. During provision we have finger painted a Colour Monster using the colours from the story to represent different feelings, made Colour Monster potions outside, threaded pasta onto string to make necklaces and sorted the coloured Pom Pom’s to match the feelings. We have had lots of fun getting stuck into Reception life 😊

Year Three have worked hard earlier in the week with their superb Geography work all about the lines of latitude and longitude. They did so well and I was super impressed with their drawings! Well done superstars!

🎤✨ Oracy in Action! ✨🎤

Year 3 worked incredibly hard today developing their oracy skills! 🗣️👂

We discussed the importance of speaking and listening and then put these skills to the test with a fun game of Back to Back! 🔄🙌

It was fantastic to see such great communication, careful listening and confident speaking in action. ⭐
