We are proud to announce the safe arrival of our class ducklings 🐥

The children have been very caring with them over the last few days, patiently waiting for them to hatch. 🐣

We’re sure they will tell you lots about them over the next week.

Today the children had lots of fun making moon sand with their friends.
Moon sand is a calming sensory play experience for babies, toddlers and children. It sparks their imagination and develops hand-eye coordination and fine motor skills.
Moon sand requires two ingredients flour, cornflour and oil. It’s mouldable but crumbles easily ready to be reshaped and doesn’t dry out- perfect for small children who are developing their hand strength
As there’s no cooking required you can children of any age involved in making it so why not try making this at home.🏡

Ingredients
8 tbsp Flour or Cornflour
1 tbsp vegetable or sunflower oil
A few drop food colouring (optional)
Method
Put the flour in a bowl, then slowly stir in the oil and food colouring, if using
Rub the oil and colouring through the flour with your fingertips, as if you were making pastry, until the mixture feel sandy and no oil is visible. If the mixture seems too dry, add a few more drops of oil, or if the mixture is too soft, add some more flour. The consistency should be dry, shape able clay that crumbles fairy easily when squeezed. Have fun.

This week we have been talking about how important it is to have good oral health. We know that good oral health habits need to be formed from an early age to keep children from developing tooth decay. We have been talking about how important it is to brush our teeth. In class the children have taken on the very serious role of the dentist, inspecting each other’s teeth! WOW
