Denby Dale Community Library

Denby Dale Community Library Borrow books, access local information, enjoy the café, use our car park, attend our events – these are just the most popular of our many services.

In 2013 we set-up Denby Dale Community Project, a charitable trust, to save our threatened village library, by raising funds to construct and establish a new community building. Over the next 3 years we raised £240,000, thanks to the work of a committed group of local volunteers and financial support from a wide range of donors and local business supporters. In January 2017 the new community libra

ry finaly opened. The main occupant is the library, which is run by DDCL in partnership with Kirklees Library Services. Kirkwood Hospice are our tenants and share the building co-operatively. They offer the additional services of a café and gift shop, to all members of our local community. Although the main fundraising to build the library is now complete, we still need to regularly raise funds to meet the ongoing operational costs. Please support us by joining our Supporters Club or attending events we organise. Visit our website for more information.
