Care Navigating:

At Beacon Medical Practice, our Reception Team plays a key part in helping you access the right care, from the right service, at the right time.

They are trained and required to ask why you need an appointment. Not to pry, but to guide you to the most appropriate healthcare professional through Care Navigation.

Unfortunately, like many surgeries, we still hear and see comments that can be disrespectful toward our team.

Please remember that our receptionists are carrying out an essential role as part of your care journey.

We kindly ask that you always treat them with respect, as they are simply trying to help you get the best possible care, quickly and appropriately.

This month is Men’s Mental Health Awareness Month.

It is also a reminder that many men struggle in silence and do not seek support.

If you’re finding things difficult, overwhelming, or you don't quite feel yourself, you’re not alone.

Talking to someone you trust, a friend, family member, or health professional can make a real difference.

Reaching out is not a weakness.

Mens Mental Health Month 💙

Men matter too
Men feel too
Men deserve self care too
Men cry too
Men have therapy too
Men struggle too
Men are human too

Its okay for men to not be okay

Food Hygiene Ratings – Why They Matter for Your Health:

Local authorities inspect food businesses and award a Food Hygiene Rating from 0 to 5.
This score reflects how safely food is handled, stored, prepared, and managed.

Higher ratings show strong hygiene standards, while lower ratings indicate that improvements are needed.

Poor food hygiene increases the risk of food poisoning, cross‑contamination, and illnesses such as salmonella, norovirus, and E. coli.

By checking a business’s hygiene rating before you buy food, you can significantly reduce your risk of food‑related illness and make informed choices about where to eat.

You can look up any local ratings by using the ELDC Food Hygiene Ratings search tool:
