We are now back open !
Our visitor volunteers are now back on site to welcome visitors as per usual during most days of the week and most weekends. Remember the site is free to enter 🙂

Due to unforeseen circumstances, the Abbey will be closed for various works:

Closed 23/1/26
Open 24/1/26 & 25/1/26
Closed 26/1/26- 30/1/26
Open 31/1/26 & 1/2/26
We will hopefully be back to normal opening hrs w/c 2/2/26.

There have been many visitors to the Abbey over hundreds of years and like a lot of historic properties people have left their mark. Whilst we don’t like modern graffiti on the fabric of our properties today, it is nonetheless, always fascinating to look back at those that have been before. Here we see a small selection of some of the hidden graffiti that visitor’s today generally don’t see at the Abbey..
