Community Resource

Community Resource Community Resource is committed to making life better for people and communities in Shropshire, Telford & Wrekin.

Community Resource (formerly known as Shropshire RCC) is a charity that is committed to making life better for people and communities facing challenges in Shropshire, Telford & Wrekin. We deliver this work across three main areas:

Wellbeing & Care

We support people to stay active and connected to their communities and to maintain their health and independence so they live life to the full. We do

this through a range of community-based projects with the help of a team of local and committed volunteers. Community & Support

We work with voluntary groups so they can help meet the need in their local area, enable local people to improve their work prospects through access to transport and support rural communities to access competitive heating prices through our Oil Buying Club. Funding & Advice

We connect people who care with causes that need their help through our community fund, offer guidance to households to help them save energy and keep warm and provide advice to local meeting places and groups through our membership scheme.

🏡 Selattyn & Gobowen Housing Needs Survey is LIVE!

Following our announcement earlier this year, Selattyn & Gobowen Parish Council and Community Resource is pleased to confirm that our Housing Needs Survey is now open.

👉 Complete the survey online:
www.smartsurvey.co.uk/t/selattyngobowen

The survey has been commissioned to help us build a clear picture of the housing needs within our parish. The evidence gathered will help the Parish Council when discussing proposals with developers, responding to planning application consultations and, potentially, developing a neighbourhood plan.

📅 The survey is open until 30th September 2026.

We would like to hear from anyone with a local connection, including people who currently live in the parish and those who may have moved away because suitable or affordable housing was not available locally.

Whether you're:
🏠 Looking to move into your first home
👨‍👩‍👧‍👦 Starting or growing a family
⬇️ Thinking about downsizing
♿ Looking for more suitable or accessible accommodation
👨‍⚕️ Working locally in an important community role
👪 A family member, carer or part of someone's local support network

…we want to hear from you.

Your responses are anonymous. The survey will be analysed by Craig Bethel, Shropshire’s Rural Housing Enabler, and no identifying information will be included in the report or shared with the Parish Council.

Physical copies will be delivered to households within the Village Green newsletter, if you don't receive a village green newsletter you can pick up a paper survey from the following places:

All Saints Church
Gobowen Library
Gobowen Primary School
Selattyn Primary School
St Mary’s Church
The Docks
The Last Inn

This is an important opportunity to help ensure that future housing reflects the needs of our local community. Please take a few minutes to complete the survey.

📣 Your voice matters. Please take part and help shape the future of our parish.

The aim is to identify and understand housing need from those with a local connection, as well as collecting how residents feel about homes that are developed specifically to fulfil local need.

Selattyn, have your say!

Community Resource, a Shropshire charity, has been asked by Selattyn and Gobowen Parish Council to run an independent housing needs survey.

If you live in or have a local connection to Selattyn and are considering alternative housing within the parish, we encourage you to complete the survey. This is a rare opportunity for the parish council to understand the level and type of housing need in the community.

The results will be analysed by Community Resource’s Rural Housing Enabler and reported to the parish council as anonymous data.
