3rd Annual Football fun day 2026

We CANT wait to team up with our good friends Bridge Cheese and deliver the 3rd annual Football fun day on 20/06/2026

It’s always such an amazing day - seeing many of the children we support come have fun, play football and have a brilliant afternoon with us all - these are memories they can keep

As always the day is for children under the care of Shropshire council / Telford and Wrekin Council

If the children want to play they have to be secondary school age (year 7 - year 11) - there will also be a game for 16+

There will be trophies and player of the match awards + we will also be giving away x 2 England football team World Cup shirts!

For more info and a consent form which needs to be completed and sent to us prior to the day please email [email protected]

Many thanks to our friends Bridge Cheese who truly understand the meaning of giving back and providing opportunities for children to connect, enjoy and reflect back on with fond memories

Training 💙❤️

We often ask professionals who attend our training:

“what will you take forward and embed into practice”

BECAUSE…

it’s all very well being present in training BUT it’s so important to be inspired and have a plan to take to actively improve practice and impact children’s lives.

This is why we bring our unique perspective into our training

❤️ Lived Experience
đź’™Professional Experience
❤️ Service Experience

All give us experience and a unique insight which we can implement into our training. We also always believe in bringing our positive, warm energy - energy is contagious and to inspire others they have to feel our passion and commitment to what we do

We love reading the feedback & reflections after our training

Our training offer is getting bigger, from 1 hour keynotes to full days interactive training - please contact us to find out more: [email protected]

Woodland Experience 🌲 🌲

What a fantastic couple of days in our woodland with an amazing bunch of children

Yesterday we had the pleasure of hosting children under the care of

And today we welcomed children under the care of

As we always say to the children that attend our woodland “These woodlands are YOURS bring ideas and let’s make it happen” - this naturally increases participation, imagination and ownership

Yesterday we had The pleasure of welcoming our wonderful member of staff Rik who led with his hat on - a day of adventure, learning and projects

Today we continued with projects, reconstructing the meeting area / fire Pitt and working on a woodland den - as well as a scavenger hunt & Teambuilding games

So what have children tried during the last two days?

🌲 Nettle tea 🍵
🌲 Peppermint tea 🍵
🌲 Safely using tools such a hammers, Axes & Saws
🌲 Learning how to tie knots
🌲 Learning how to lead - different activities
🌲 Learning how to truly listen and hearing the wonderful sound of nature

We have had a great time and we want to thank every child that attended, you all grew throughout the day, Stepped out of comfort zones, learnt new skills, were present ( 📵) and took part in some great conversations

We love hosting in our woodland 🌲

Well done everyone

Yesterday as part of foster carer fortnight we were asked to deliver to the lovely foster carers in Telford & Wrekin Council

The training we delivered was called “How positive diversions can save a life”

We loved designing & delivering this because guess what - They have SAVED our life - they have been the one constant and community in our life and we know the power being part of something, investing in a hobby can bring.

During the interactive day we were able to help foster carers understand how positive diversions can protect, support and improve outcomes for children in care by reducing vulnerability, removing isolation, building resilience and increasing emotional wellbeing.

BUT it’s not just a case of introducing a hobby to a child and expecting them to “get on with it” - everyone needs to understand that with participation comes relationships, connections, triggers, risks, different approaches and when understanding a child’s journey it’s important to be able to adapt and help them with the transition into a hobby, positive diversion or new community

We were able to look at case studies, community map, look at risk and protective factors, explore positive diversions through a trauma informed lens and share ideas and best practice - “raising each other”

It was particularly lovely as our service supports many children in Telford so to connect, converse and inspire foster carers ensures “everyone is working together”

Play, positive diversions and community will always be a huge part of what we do - we loved delivering this course - for more information please email [email protected]

Thanks everyone for your lovely feedback

Today as part of fostering fortnight we are delivering a training session to Telford & Wrekin Children's Social Care foster carers on “How positive diversions can save a life”

Here is Andy explaining a little bit more about one of our new courses and the delivery

We are SO passionate about this session - positive diversions, hobbies CAN and will be the difference - we just have to be the person / people they understand, connect, inspire and be present to help the children realise the lifelong benefits!

We can’t wait to deliver this interactive session

Foster Care Fortnight 2026

“Heroes In The System” - This post is dedicated to the most amazing people Janet & Dave Hughes two every day heroes that have cared for over 170 children in the care system - we’re were 3 of them that felt their care.

Matt, Andy and their brother Richard entered the care system at the tender ages of 4, 5 & 6 due to various reasons and neglectful parenting

All 3 brothers were placed with Janet and Dave in Minsterley Shropshire - naturally loss & change in such an early and formative part of a child’s life can be huge and have an impact that can last a lifetime

During our time with Janet and Dave we felt nothing but love, care and when after 2.5 years it was time to leave we felt a sense of loss and sadness with a new start with new carers and being split from our older brother Richard.

Janet and Dave brought routine, warmth, care, and direction to our chaotic lives, they made us feel part of the family, they included us, advocated for us and showed through words and actions just what a loving home looked and felt like…

We also credit Dave for us supporting - Dave used to watch them play on the TV and naturally as curious boys we gravitated towards Dave and Liverpool also became our team - Dave was a role model we wanted to follow…

Children in care will one day become adults and we always say in our training “do you think the children you care for will want to know and visit you when you’re older? Do you care? You should do especially when you may be the only positive, caring and connecting relationship the children may have…

As adults we have visited and reflected with Janet and Dave - we must also remember that foster carers FEEL too - Janet and Dave had reservations from observing us with our new carers and voiced these - they were never listened to - this is why we always say “remove the ego and listen to everyone in the process”

This post is to celebrate Janet & Dave you truly cared, you truly loved and we felt it - thank you for being those champions we deserved ❤️💙

On Tuesday we had the privilege to travel to Preston and attend Lancashire County Council Social Care “Service Fayre Event” delivering to a room full of Newly Qualified Social Workers

This request was music to our ears - having the chance to spend a few hours with child centred professionals who were just starting their journey as social work practitioners- the chance to really embed some important and often overlooked messages so they can go into practice with Key messages from our lived experience

We loved the engagement, from conversations around reframing a child’s journey in care, looking at children through a lens of strength, showing up as our true authentic selves, being vulnerable & how do we show we care? - All really important conversations…

Sometimes the stuff we deliver and talk about can’t be measured, it wont be covered in university lectures / courses and through text books BUT it’s real and extremely important - it helps remind everyone of their “why” and just how important their role is NOW - their interactions, words, what they write forms how a child views themself which they carry into the adult world…

We need to be reminding these valuable children just how amazing they are, just how much we care and love them and how despite what they have been through we KNOW they will thrive in life - because as services and professionals we have collectively got their back ❤️💙

Well done to everyone who attended - for someone to stop us half way through and say “This is the best training I have had so far on my journey” - WOW - we appreciate it and we know we are changing mindsets and holding space for people to evaluate how they connect & care

Thanks everyone for the lovely afternoon the welcome and interaction were superb and we wish you nothing but the best in your roles going forward

Next week we hit the road with a busy week delivering training in Telford, Knowsley and Norwich - if you want more information on our training please contact [email protected]

A couple of weeks ago we were kindly asked to deliver a keynote at the MATNetworks event at Shrewsbury Town FC

It was great to see school and trust leaders in attendance, some we already work with and have a brilliant relationship with and other inspirational and impactful projects that are making a significant difference to the lives of many children in education

We spoke about “being the champion” children deserve, the worlds many children encounter outside the school gates which makes learning practically heavy & hard and the importance of “leading from the heart” being curious and connecting with consistency and care - we can and will be the difference in a child’s life

For us it’s not rocket science and you don’t need lots of qualification to be a nice person, show you care, recognise children and be the warmth they need - some people find it hard to “understand the worlds children actually live in” - BUT we can all start by being kind and role modelling what love and care look like…that’s when we will see real meaningful care and the children will WANT to be in school…

Lucy Clark thanks so much for the invite, your kindness, warmth and welcome shone through and we appreciate it

Carla Whelan. Thank you for the recommendation and the warmth in which you speak about our service - we love working in Empower Multi Academy Trust schools

Karen Matthews what a pleasure it was to talk about YOU - a real caring, humble and child centred leader - I’ve witnessed and felt this continuously

A lovely afternoon and one we appreciate - it’s so nice to be in rooms and conversations of inclusion and change - we love what we do and we are proud of our impact…

“Imagine looking back in years to come and knowing you impacted someone’s life because they felt your care”
