🚒🇺🇸 Team Shropshire Fire are on their way to Atlanta, Georgia! 🇺🇸🚒

The team are heading across the Atlantic to take part in the Terry Farrell Fund 9/11 Memorial Stair Climb.

25 years after the devastating terrorist attacks on the Twin Towers in New York, firefighters from across the UK and Ireland will come together to climb 110 floors — the equivalent height of the Twin Towers — in full firefighting kit, honouring the 343 firefighters and emergency responders who made the ultimate sacrifice in the line of duty.

This incredible challenge is not only about remembering those who lost their lives, but also about supporting three fantastic charities:

❤️ The Fire Fighters Charity
❤️ The Blue Light Card Foundation

It’s going to be an emotional, challenging and unforgettable experience, and we’re incredibly proud to be representing Shropshire Fire and Rescue Service.

As firefighters continue to respond to wildfires and other incidents across the country, Fire Control teams have been working around the clock, dealing with thousands of calls and coordinating resources in extremely challenging conditions.

Their professionalism, resilience and calm decision-making help ensure help reaches those who need it most.

Phil Garrigan, NFCC Chair, said, "We also recognise the extraordinary efforts of firefighters, control teams and support staff who continue to work around the clock in extremely challenging conditions to protect life, property and the environment."
