A big shout-out to Grange Primary School in Shrewsbury for their unwavering commitment to children's oral health. 🦷

Despite facing significant operational challenges to their supervised toothbrushing routine this year, the headteacher and her staff refused to let it slip. Working alongside the Healthy Smile Team, they successfully navigated the obstacles to find a solution.
Brilliant to see the children brushing again and protecting their smiles!

Today is the last day of National Smile Month 2026.

We would like to say a big thank you to Lisa and Kelly and the team at the Alice Charity for inviting us to their Big Cup Parent and Toddler Group sessions it was great to meet so many families and see the children getting involved in practicing to brush their teeth for 2 minutes, learning about how to keep sugar to mealtimes and how to switch from a bottle to a free flow cup.

We hope our followers have found the oral health information from the Oral Health Foundation useful that we have been sharing via our platforms and we look forward to joining in and getting involved again next year in 2027.

🏃‍♀️✨ We did it! ✨🏃‍♂️ What a great morning we had at Trentham Parkrun on Saturday, despite the rain! 🥳

A special shout out to Emma, who successfully ticked off the letter T on her Parkrun alphabet challenge – another step closer to completing her Alphabeteer! 👏 🏃🏻‍♀️

We were also delighted to welcome a surprise visit from Karen at Keepstokesmiling who came along to support us. Working together to improve oral health. 😃 🦷

A huge thank you to all who were able to join us and to all the volunteers, runners, walkers, and supporters who make the event such a success. We’ll be back! 💜

🎉 We are excited to be hosting the Care to Smile Awards once again this year, celebrating the outstanding nursing and residential care homes across Staffordshire, who are going above and beyond to improve the oral health of their residents! 🦷✨

These fantastic care homes have demonstrated real dedication in meeting NICE Guidance and Care to Smile standards, as part of the programme delivered by the Healthy Smile Team, supported by Staffordshire County Council. Anna Lee Hunt, Consultant in Dental Public Health (NHS England) and Richard Harling, Director of Health and Care (Staffordshire County Council) will be there to celebrate the hard work and commitment of these care homes and present the awards on the day. 🏆

The award ceremony will recognise the commitment, passion and hard work of care home teams who are making a meaningful difference every day. 👏

This is just part of a wider celebration, with events soon to be taking place across Shropshire, Telford & Wrekin and Stoke-on-Trent. Together, we continue to champion better mouth care and healthier smiles for residents in nursing and residential care homes.
