On Friday 20th March it is Red Nose Day. Children are invited to wear Red Nose merchandise with their school uniform - such things as wristbands, deely boppers... or a red nose of course! Red Noses are on sale from the school office for £2.50. Cash only. On the day, we will have buckets at the gates in the morning for anyone who would like to make a donation to the charity.

Day 4 of Careers Week combined with World Book Day was an absolute blast!
KS2 kicked things off with our very own Joe Wicks… a.k.a PT Harry, who had everyone jumping and stretching. Paramedic Matt then rolled in with an ambulance, giving pupils a hands‑on look at emergency equipment and what life is like on the front line.

But the excitement didn’t stop there! Some year groups got a fascinating glimpse into the world of nursing and midwifery, others learned what it’s like to care for dogs while their owners are off on holiday, and Year 6 explored the creative world of architecture.

A huge thank you to all our brilliant visitors today — you made it unforgettable!

The children have been buzzing with excitement after yet another incredible day full of visitors! Today alone, they met a dental nurse, a respiratory nurse, a probation services manager, a commercial finance manager, a C2C train driver, and even welcomed the police force back for more fun. Some of our teachers even found themselves getting “arrested” as part of the experience—much to the children’s delight!

The atmosphere around school is absolutely electric! And with World Book Day tomorrow—complete with costumes and a whole new round of inspiring visitors—it's gearing up to be one of our busiest and most magical days yet.

Stay tuned… there’s plenty more to come!

Woo hoo! Today we have the highest whole school attendance of the school year at 97.4%!

It is proven that great attendance typically means great learning.

Did you know, with the new Ofsted inspection framework, that schools cannot be judged to be at the ‘Expected Standard’ for Attendance and Behaviour unless attendance is broadly inline with schools nationally?

Today has been packed with exciting career adventures! Little City welcomed even more eager explorers, Year 4 got creative designing colourful cake decorations, and Rochford Fire Service wowed everyone with a tour of their fire engine—plus some impressive hose target practice on the field! Year 3 put their money‑skills to the test by building the best-value towers, and Year 5 headed to Fruits of the Sea to discover how cockles are prepared. What a day! There’s even more visitors planned for tomorrow.

Careers Week has got off to an exciting start. So far, Sam from Essex Police’s dog unit came in with his loyal friend Lando, Little City has been enjoyed by younger pupils and Darren came into talk to the children in Year 3 about plane refuelling at Southend Airport. There’s a great deal to look forward to this week!

Our new library has really come together. It looks lovely and it is now ready for everyone to use. A big thank you again to the PTA who part-funded the development - and of course everyone who supports our PTA events. Thanks also to the children and staff who have helped organise all of the books. Quite the job!
