Hello,

I wanted to reach out again as the Local Policing Inspector for North East Derbyshire and Bolsover. Since my last update, we have successfully implemented the Safer Neighbourhood team uplift across the area that has brought an additional sergeant and additional police constables to the existing team.

There are 17 distinct beat areas across North East Derbyshire and Bolsover, and this uplift has allowed me to create three teams to create a better focus on tackling local issues whilst also being able to work as a collective when required. These are:

โ€ข Dronfield, Killamarsh & Clowne SNT under Sergeant Molloy
โ€ข Bolsover & Shirebrook SNT under Sergeant Whyte
โ€ข Clay Cross SNT under Sergeant Jones

The local priorities for all of the beat areas have just been updated which can all be reviewed at:

๐Ÿ‘‰ North East - https://orlo.uk/0uUtR

If you want to assist with how these are selected in the next cycle, review our work towards these priorities, or just want to give feedback around the area you live or work in, then please look to attend a local Community Catch up event or by completing the Community Voice survey at the below link:

๐Ÿ‘‰ Community Voice โ€“ https://orlo.uk/c9auU

Your feedback is invaluable and plays a key role in informing and renewing our neighbourhood policing priorities.

As we now enter the summer months, I will ensure your local officers are as visible and accessible as they can be in the community. The team as a whole has completed 750 local engagements in 2026 so far, and I want nothing less than the team being the most accessible and visible safer neighbourhood team in the county.

I hope you all have a great summer, and I look forward to feeding back some of the great proactive work we are completing currently in my next report to you.

๐Ÿ‘ฎโ€โ™‚๏ธShirebrook SNT Visit Whaley Thorns Primary School๐Ÿ‘ฎ

Officers from Shirebrook Safer Neighbourhood Team recently had a fantastic visit to Whaley Thorns Primary School, where they spent time with the children sharing a glimpse into life in policing.

The pupils had the opportunity to see and learn about a range of police equipment and tools that officers use every day to help keep our communities safe. From radios and protective gear to some of the specialist kit carried on duty, there was plenty to spark curiosity!

We were incredibly impressed with how engaged the children were throughout the visit. Their enthusiasm, excellent behaviour, and thoughtful questions really stood out. A big thank you to Whaley Thorns Primary School for welcoming usโ€”we had a brilliant time and hope the children enjoyed it just as much as we did.

Who knowsโ€ฆ we may have met some future officers in the making! ๐Ÿ‘ฎโ€โ™€๏ธ๐Ÿ’™

๐Ÿš” Safer Neighbourhood Team Activity โ€“ Bolsover ๐Ÿš”

Officers from the local Safer Neighbourhood Teams of Bolsover, Creswell and Shirebrook have executed two Section 8 PACE warrants in the Bolsover area as part of ongoing efforts to tackle drug-related activity and protect our communities.

Our officers worked long hours to ensure these warrants were carried out effectively and safely.

During the activity, a quantity of suspected drugs was located at one of the addresses. A male was arrested, subsequently charged, and remanded to court. The individual had been wanted by police for the past three years and was also wanted by Immigration authorities.

This result highlights our continued commitment to pursuing offenders, no matter how long they have evaded justice, and taking positive action against those involved in criminality.

๐Ÿšจ IMPORTANT HEAT WARNING ๐Ÿšจ

We are already seeing incidents of people collapsing and passing out due to heat exhaustion as temperatures rise. With Summer on the way, these incidents can happen quickly and without much warning โ€” and in some cases, they can become life-threatening if not treated immediately.
Please do not underestimate the impact of hot weather. Take precautions now to protect yourself and others ๐Ÿ‘‡

High temperatures arenโ€™t just uncomfortable โ€” they can be dangerous and life-threatening if youโ€™re not prepared. Stay alert and take these steps to protect yourself and others:

๐Ÿ”ฅ Stay hydrated โ€“ Drink plenty of water throughout the day. Donโ€™t wait until you feel thirsty. Avoid excessive alcohol or caffeine as they can dehydrate you.
๐Ÿงข Keep cool โ€“ Stay in the shade where possible and avoid going out during peak heat (11amโ€“3pm). Wear light, loose clothing and a hat.
๐Ÿ  Look after vulnerable people โ€“ Check on elderly neighbours, young children, and pets regularly. Never leave anyone (or animals) in a parked car โ€” even for a minute.
๐ŸŒก๏ธ Watch for warning signs โ€“ Dizziness, headaches, nausea, confusion, or excessive sweating could mean heat exhaustion or heatstroke. Take immediate action and seek medical help if symptoms worsen.
๐Ÿšฟ Cool down safely โ€“ Use cool showers, damp cloths, or sit near a fan. Close curtains during the day to keep indoor spaces cooler.
๐Ÿšถโ€โ™‚๏ธ Take it easy โ€“ Avoid strenuous activity in extreme heat. Listen to your body.

โš ๏ธ THIS IS IMPORTANT: Heat can affect anyone โ€” even healthy people. Donโ€™t underestimate it.

๐Ÿ‘‰ Stay safe, stay cool, and look out for each other.

๐ŸŒž Community Spirit on Shirebrook Market Place ๐ŸŒž

This morning, Two officers from the Shirebrook Safer Neighbourhood Team were on Shirebrook Market Place when they were made aware of two individuals who had collapsed due to suspected heat exhaustion. Two members of public collapsed within five minutes of each other. The officers dealt with the incident and ensured both people were looked after and received the assistance they needed.

What really stood out, however, was the incredible response from our local community ๐Ÿ’™

Residents, shop owners, and passers-by didnโ€™t hesitate to step in and help along side off duty first responders, nurses, town councillors and even children asked โ€œWhat can we do?โ€ โ€” whether that was offering water, shade, support, or simply reassurance while the officers managed the situation. It was a true example of everyone pulling together when it mattered most.

Moments like this remind us just how special Shirebrook is. Itโ€™s not just about responding to incidents โ€” itโ€™s about people looking out for one another, showing kindness, and working together to keep each other safe.

Coming together is a beginning, keeping together is progress and working together is success.

๐Ÿ‘ Thank you to everyone who helped. This is community spirit at its very best. ๐Ÿ‘

๐Ÿš“๐Ÿ‘ฃ Mini Police on Patrol! ๐Ÿ‘ฃ๐Ÿš“

Today our fantastic Mini Police from Model Village Primary School hit the streets of Shirebrook for a special community walk ๐Ÿšถโ€โ™€๏ธ๐Ÿšถโ€โ™‚๏ธ โ€” and they had an important missionโ€ฆ

๐Ÿ‘€ Spotting pedestrian safety issues and helping make our town a safer place for everyone!
While checking safe crossing spots our young officers showed brilliant teamwork, confidence, and community spirit. They even shared some friendly safety tips with each other along the way! ๐Ÿ’ฌ

Weโ€™re incredibly proud of their enthusiasm and dedication โ€” Shirebrook is in good hands with these future community champions! ๐Ÿ’™

๐Ÿ‘ Well done Mini Police โ€” keep up the great work!
