🌸✨ **May at Shipston Lodge – Celebrations, Creativity & Community** ✨🌸
May has been another wonderful month here at Shipston Lodge, filled with special celebrations, engaging activities and plenty of memorable moments. We were delighted to celebrate some very special birthdays, including Gerry’s incredible 100th birthday, Mary’s family-filled celebration, and a fantastic day of birthday festivities for Brian, Anna, Edith and our talented chef Claire. There was certainly no shortage of cake, laughter and happy memories throughout the month! 🎂💛
Our residents have enjoyed keeping active and entertained with a wide variety of activities. From balloon tennis, indoor skittles and music and movement with Yvette, to relaxing hand massages and seated activities, there has been something for everyone. We also welcomed wonderful entertainers including Kelvin Leitch and harpist Audrey Douglas, whose performances filled the home with music, smiles and even a little dancing. 🎶💃
Creativity has continued to flourish across the home. Wendy’s arts and crafts sessions saw residents creating bird nests, weaving projects and even gliders, while our Knit & Natter afternoons brought together conversation, creativity and plenty of tea and cake. Residents also enjoyed games afternoons with hangman and golden oldies, proving that fun and friendly competition never go out of fashion! 🎨🧶
We also enjoyed some lovely moments out and about, including afternoon tea at Willersey Church Café and relaxing walks on the terrace enjoying the beautiful spring sunshine. Visits from Ronnie the therapy dog brought comfort and joy, while our monthly church service and community gatherings continued to provide meaningful opportunities for reflection, friendship and connection.
As always, a huge thank you to our residents, families, volunteers, staff and visitors who help make Shipston Lodge such a vibrant and welcoming community. We can't wait to see what June brings! 💛
