It’s almost here! Saturday 12th September 2026 will see Shifnal come alive for our very first Shifnal Scarecrow Festival, and there is SO much happening throughout the day! 🧑🌾🌾
🌾 SCARECROW TRAIL 🧑🌾
Keep your eyes peeled as you explore Shifnal and discover the fantastic scarecrows created by residents, businesses, schools and community groups. Don’t forget to vote for your favourite! 🗳️
🧁 BAKING COMPETITION 🎂
Think you’re Shifnal’s star baker? Residents young and old are invited to don their aprons and enter our baking competition! Entries are just £2, with entries to be brought to St Andrew’s Churchyard at 10:00am on the morning of the festival.
🍔 DEDICATED FOOD COURT 🍕
Come hungry! Our dedicated Food Court will be serving up a fantastic selection of food and sweet treats, including fresh pizza, burgers and chips, Indian food, Caribbean food, gyros, hot doughnuts, chocolate fondue, homemade cakes and bakes and much more! 😋
🛍️ LOTS OF STALLS 🎁
Browse a fantastic variety of local businesses, makers, charities and community groups offering handmade gifts, artwork, toys, crafts, candles, jewellery, crochet, tombolas and much more.
🎨 FREE CHILDREN’S ACTIVITIES 🎨
There’ll be opportunities for children to get creative and have fun, including free arts and crafts and other family activities throughout the event.
⚔️ VIKINGS ARE COMING! 🛡️
Look out for Hrafn Væringi’s Viking Re-enactment Group and their Viking encampment nestled amongst the trees right in the centre of the event.
Then at 1:00pm, don’t miss their fantastic battle re-enactment demonstration, where children will even have the opportunity to get involved and have a go themselves! ⚔️🛡️

We have a fantastic line-up of entertainment throughout the day, including:

Make sure you stick around until the end of the festival as the winners of our competitions will be announced LIVE at 2:55pm by Cllr Mayor Paul Williamson, followed by his closing words for the event.
