Wow! We’ve been awarded a grant from the district council to start us off with fundraising for Cooper Road Playpark.
Many thanks to Liz Withington for her hard work with the forms and Katy Gooch and Hannah Hignett for sorting out the bank account etc.

Last week we had a really positive meeting with officers at NNDC.
They really liked our plans for the park.
Just need the bank account finalised and then we are ready to fundraise. 😀

Apologies for the delay in posting but nothing proceeds as quick as you’d like! Before Christmas we were waiting for revised quotes from equipment company which we now have. We also had to dot a few Is around consitutions and bank accounts which is now also proceeding. Following a meeting this week, our next step is to meet with NNDC who own the park and then meet again as a community group to ascertain our starting point with bids and fundraising. 🙂

Just to say things are chugging away in the background. We are continuing to try and set up a bank account and awaiting full costings from the equipment company. Tonight the group met again to consider which aspects of the plans to move forward with. We narrowed down options and are going back to one of the companies to rejig their design. There is a lot to weigh up in terms of layout, catering for different age groups and inclusivity. We also considered fundraising and we are moving forward with a bank account. A very constructive meeting. Next meeting is on the 9th September.😀

On Monday we had the first meeting of the community group to take forward plans to improve the playground. We talked about next steps including possible funding sources.
We are still really keen to get more people on board. Please contact me at colin.heinink@north-norfolk if you are interested in getting involved.
It’s not a huge commitment.
