Sheffield Children’s NHS Foundation Trust is one of only four dedicated children’s hospital trusts in the UK and provides integrated healthcare for children and young people, including community and mental health care as well as acute and specialist services. We see children from 0-16 in most cases and in some cases up to 18. We provide a full range of services for residents of Sheffield and South

Yorkshire as well as specialised services for patients from further afield. The Children's Hospital Charity exists to make an extraordinary hospital even better. We keep our specialist services special; providing the best equipment your money can buy, opening new facilities and funding vital research to change lives tomorrow. We make the clinical more comfortable; transforming the hospital space and adding the little touches that make a big difference to families. Together with all our supporters and staff, we do it for the kids.

You might be feeling far from festive, but we're saying a thank you full of Christmas spirit!🎄💙

Mitch, Joel, and the amazing team from Christmas Tree Collection worked tirelessly through the early months of this year, collecting thousands of Christmas trees to be chipped and recycled.

We recently caught up with Joel, and he presented the money raised last Christmas - over £26,000!

The team's hard work will help to spark joy at Sheffield Children's, and we couldn't be more grateful!

Thank you to everyone who booked a collection. Your support will help to change lives. Look out later in the year to book your Christmas tree collection for January 2027 👀

📖 A little piece of Sheffield Children’s history… 📖

While going through her aunt’s belongings, Gillian recently discovered this wonderful keepsake from the 1950s – a nurse’s medical dictionary belonging to her aunt Joan Henderson, who worked here at Sheffield Children’s. With her name written neatly inside, the book is filled with vintage adverts, diagrams and terminology that show just how much times have changed.

As we celebrate our 150th anniversary this year, it’s amazing to think of all the lives that have come into contact with the hospital over the last century and a half. It's only through the skill, compassion and dedication of those who worked – and work – at the Trust over the years that we have a national leader in children’s healthcare right here in Sheffield.

'One Big Thank You' for our amazing supporter, Leah! 💙

As we continue to celebrate 150 years of Sheffield Children's and 50 years of our charity, we're delighted that one of our incredible young fundraisers, Leah Walton, is being honoured tonight with 'One Big Thank You' on BBC One's The One Show.

13-year-old Leah has been a dedicated fundraiser since 2022. At a Sheffield Wednesday match, she saw Sheffield Children’s patient, Jude Mellon-Jameson, come out onto the pitch, and heard his story. At the time, Jude was being treated for a type of cancer called Neuroblastoma – Leah said she thought he was so brave. When Jude very sadly passed away, Leah wanted to keep fundraising in his memory – and she did just that!

From selling custom-made scrunchies and key rings, to taking part in charity events like Glow in the Park and gifting a snowflake at Christmas, Leah's passion and heart mean she's now raised over £60,000 for Sheffield Children's!

In honour of Leah's hard work, she will be recognised on The One Show tonight, and we couldn't be prouder.

Make sure you tune in this evening from 7pm to see Leah being celebrated!

🦁 Meet Dr Helen Stewart, Consultant in Paediatric Emergency Medicine at Sheffield Children’s, pictured with two lions from the Pride of Yorkshire trail!

This week, Helen helped launch the trail and shared why it matters so much to Sheffield Children’s – you may even have heard her roar on BBC Radio Sheffield or spotted her on ITV Calendar 👀

Our Emergency Department is one of the busiest areas of the hospital. Built in 1977 to care for around 24,000 patients a year, it now supports more than 62,000 children and young people annually – with demand continuing to grow.

That’s why we are investing in a redevelopment of the Emergency Department, creating a modern, child-friendly environment for generations to come - and Sheffield Children’s Hospital Charity will fundraise towards this through its biggest-ever sculpture trail, Pride of Yorkshire.

We are hugely grateful to Sheffield Children’s Hospital Charity for their unwavering support - with a 150 strong pride of lions and 150 lion cubs across South Yorkshire to visit, supported by artists, businesses and schools - we are in awe. The incredible support and donations will help transform urgent and emergency care for children and families across our region 🦁💙

More than £70,000 raised for Sheffield Children's! 💙⛳️

A huge thank you to everyone who helped make this year's Dan Walker TV vs Danny Willett Golf Day such an incredible success.

Hosted by Dan Walker and Masters champion Danny Willett at Rotherham Golf Club Ltd, the event brought together supporters, sponsors, volunteers and a host of familiar faces to raise vital funds for our Bright Young Dreams campaign, helping support the mental health of children and young people.

From the players on the course to those who donated, sponsored and gave their time, every contribution will help us to support Sheffield Children’s to deliver life-changing care, comfort and new ideas to create healthier futures for children and young people.

Thank you to Dan, Danny, our celebrity guests, Ash Lerigo, Neil Bradburne, the team at Rotherham Golf Club, HSBC, Thornbridge Brewery, Coors, Catalyst Golf, PXG, Cobra Puma, AHJ Wills & Estates Ltd, Global Windows, Neil Waine from Beat the Pro, LensGo Visual Media, Andy Chubb, Magical Sleepovers and Events, Icarus Pro 50 and everyone who helped make the day possible.

As we mark 150 years of Sheffield Children's NHS Foundation Trust and 50 years of Sheffield Children's Hospital Charity, we're sharing 50 inspiring stories that celebrate the incredible people at the heart of everything we do. 💙💛

Today's story is all about Jack Cummings, one of our amazing young supporters.
Jack first got involved with Sheffield Children's Hospital Charity through the Bears of Sheffield trail in 2021 and has been making a difference ever since. Inspired by the care he received at Sheffield Children's when he was younger, Jack has dedicated his time to volunteering at events, supporting fundraising activities and taking on increasingly ambitious challenges to raise money for the charity.

From walking 60 miles in 30 days to completing a 90-mile challenge and raising more than £900 in the process, Jack has now raised over £5,400 for Sheffield Children's Hospital Charity.
Jack is currently planning his next challenge, walking 150 miles in 30 days this summer.
Alongside his mum, Sarah, Jack continues to volunteer throughout the year, supporting events, charity stalls and fundraising campaigns with enthusiasm, kindness and a genuine passion for helping others.

Jack's story is a wonderful reminder that age is no barrier to making a difference, and we're incredibly grateful for everything he does as part of Team Theo.
