Please take time to give it a read and like ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ‘

"We can't arrest our way out of this, and arrest very rarely will get us where we need to be."

That's how Inspector Andrew Rimmer, who leads Sheffield's City Centre Neighbourhood Policing Team, describes the challenge his team faces every day, and the approach they've chosen to meet it.

PROJECT SERVATOR: officers deploy unpredictably all year round, meaning we'll never advertise where we're going to be next.

On Friday (8 May), officers popped up in Sheffield city centre, including in Barker's Pool, and carried out two stop and searches which resulted in one person being found in possession of cannabis.

Project Servator aims to disrupt a range of criminal activity, including terrorism, and you'll often see us speaking to shop workers, security guards, and members of the public to expand our network of vigilance.

You can help us by being on the lookout for anything that appears suspicious or out of the ordinary.

Suspicious activity could be anything from an unattended bag to someone filming a building's entrance and exit or CCTV cameras. If you spot something that concerns you, trust your instincts and report it.

You can report directly to a police officer, member of staff, or by calling 101. Dial 999 in an emergency. ๐Ÿ“ž

You'll never be wasting our time. Together, we've got security covered. ๐Ÿค

Last week PCSO Holmes held a Bike Register event at Central Quays student accommodation, here he was able to speak with people about bicycle security, register bikes on Bike Register and also spoke with many students about other things including personal safety and security marking. The staff at the accommodation were also holding a stall for their residents at the same time, handing out free ice creams to residents, this made it a very popular stall ๐Ÿ™‚ .

Today PC Povey has been at Hallam University speaking with students all about personal safety and how to enjoy a night out safely. She provided students with 'Spikeys' which keep bottled drinks safe from being spiked, as well as providing information about security marking devices, online security and keeping belongings secure.

Tomorrow (Thursday 7th May) we will be holding a Bike Register stall at the Central Quays student accommodation, if you own a bicycle that you would like registering on Bike Register free of charge, feel free to come visit. The event is open to residents and non residents and we will be there between 1300-1700. (please note that non residents will have bikes registered in the courtyard outside the accommodation)

PROJECT SERVATOR: Specially trained officers on patrol in Sheffield to encourage vigilance and provide reassurance. ๐Ÿ‘ฎ

Our officers deploy unpredictably all year round and yesterday (29 April) they popped up across Sheffield city centre.

Officers were in Barker's Pool, where they arrested a man for failing to appear at court, and Tudor Square as the World Snooker Championships continue.

Project Servator is a policing tactic aimed at disrupting a range of criminal activity, including terrorism. Deployments utilise a range of resources including drones, police horses and fi****ms officers - depending on our specific requirements.

We could be anywhere, but we can't be everywhere, and that's why we need you to be on the lookout for anything that appears suspicious or out of the ordinary.

Suspicious activity could be anything from an unattended bag to someone filming the exits and entrances to buildings.

If you see something that concerns you, don't think someone else will sort it. Trust your instincts and report it to a police officer, member of staff or security. Always call 999 in an emergency.

Together, we've got security covered. ๐Ÿค

PROJECT SERVATOR: You may have noticed our specially trained officers pop up across Sheffield as the World Snooker Championships take place.

On Friday (24 April), officers were in Meadowhall, Tudor Square, Pinstone Street and The Moor.

These unpredictable deployments take place all year round and have been carried out since the force adopted Project Servator in 2022. ๐Ÿ—“๏ธ

We'll never advertise where we're going to be next and officers โ€“ who are able to spot the tell-tale signs that someone may be planning or preparing to commit a criminal act โ€“ could turn up in any place, at any time.

If you see us, it's nothing to be concerned about, and we'll always be happy to explain the reason for our presence to you.

There's more information on Project Servator in the comments below. ๐Ÿ‘‡

Today PCSO Woodhouse joined staff from Sheffield City Council at Apollo Residence in Sheffield City Centre. They held a joint stall speaking with residents of the building about crime and anti social behaviour, how this can be reported, and how different partners work together to tackle issues in the City Centre.
