Parkhead Cottage Nursery is a private nursery setting established in 2000. Exceptional childcare in a home from home environment.

Parkhead Cottage Nursery is a private nursery located in a stone built cottage within range of local popular/reputable schools, woods, library and an excellent working farm. The nursery is split into three different age groups based on individual needs and abilities. We offer exceptional care for children from 3 months to 5 years. Our experienced and qualified staff will aim to provide a safe, caring, interesting and a friendly environment. We are registered with OFSTED, who last inspected the nursery February 2016. Our Bluebells have had lots of fun rescuing pom poms from the spiders web! They did an amazing job using their fine motor skills to pick up the pom poms with the spoons and tweezers! We talked about the different coloured pom poms and the children were all great at identifying them! Well done! 😀

Ice cream sundae anyone?🍦🍨

Our Sunflowers have opened their Ice cream shop for the last week of the summer holidays.

We have different flavours available, be quick before they've all gone. ☀️🍦

In our snowdrops room the babies have been exploring lots of water play during the lovley weather. The babies have enjoyed filling and emptying the bubbly water into the cups. They also enjoyed watching the water pour out, creating even more bubbles💧🌞.

We're Hiring!

At Parkhead we're looking for a friendly and reliable Kitchen Assistant to join our nursery team on a temporary, part-time basis to cover staff absence.

This is a great role for someone who enjoys working in a caring environment and doesn't mind getting stuck into kitchen duties to help keep our little ones well fed throughout the day.

The role is to provide cover and the length of the contract will be discussed with successful applicants.

Today is National Sea Turtle Day!

Our preschoolers have celebrated by making their very own paper plate Sea Turtles, they are very excited to take them home to show their Mummies and Daddies 🌊🐢

This week our toddlers are enjoying exploring the soil and discovering insects and worms using tweezers and cups. They showed curiosity and excitement while carefully picking up the worms and looking closely at the insects. This activity is supporting fine motor skills, turn taking, and early exploration of nature.🐛🐜🐞

We have also been feeding the farm animals with oats and cornflakes and talking about the different foods farm animals eat on the farm. The children enjoyed discussing which animals eat hay, grass, and vegetables, while exploring feeding and caring for animals through play.🐑🐮🐷🐴

Today in our Sunflower's room we have a fun maths activity for the children to explore! The children were guided to write and recognise the numbers! After they had traced the numbers using their fine motor skills, the children then had to find the right number of dots to match them together. Our Sunflowers had an amazing time exploring this activity, well done☺️

❤️🤍Happy St George's Day❤️🤍

In Snowdrops our babies have been celebrating St George's Day with red and white oats. They have been using their fine motor skills to grasp the oats with their hands and practising scooping with spoons and pouring with cups. The babies loved hearing the sound of oats dropping to the floor.

DandeLION Fun!!

Our preschoolers loved our outdoor activity today, they searched the grass for dandelions to thread through their lion masks.
We love to get out in the sunshine, we're keeping our fingers crossed for more sunny adventures soon 🏵🦁.
