Welcome to the BRAND NEW 1st Battalion (UK) Armed Forces Veterans. 1(UK) AFV is a home for all veterans across all services, regular or reserve.
Over time veterans lose their sense of belonging and identity from their lives within the UK armed forces. The Battalion exists for all veterans to rejoin the ranks with like minded individuals to create a community with a structure we all associate with.
Q4 2019 HQ are busy preparing for a busy 2020. During the next 3 months our team will be focused on strengthening the headcount. This is vital for all members. The stronger the headcount the better the battalion can operate. It is our mission to provide you with benefits that are not available anywhere else. We will be providing outdoor activity experiences and qualifications for active members. We will be providing company and battalion level fitness and sports events. We will be planning multiple charitable events to raise money for charities decided by our members. The stronger the headcount the better discounts our members will get to external products and services. We will be operating Sniper challenge range days and simple coffee mornings. Courses and training will be offered on a first come first served basis and you are in control of what you want to be involved in.

1UKAFV Winter Climbing Skills
We will be providing a platform for members to share their skills and experience to benefit the wider member community. If you have specific skills all of our members and more specifically your company members will be made aware for the benefit of all. Networking within the battalion will be optional however self sufficiency is key and if members can work with each other it will enhance the membership experience. More to come on this.
It won't be all high octane energy. We will be arranging battalion and company social events at key calendar points throughout 2020. These events will provide a platform for you to meet fellow members and be an active member of the battalion. All battalion/company events will be structured for a battalion update first followed by social. Our instructor teams and HQ will be present. We want your input on the courses and activities provided so its important to share your thoughts at these meetings.

Final, we want to invite all family members to join the Support Company. The UK Armed Forces has the strength and resilience of all service families to thank for its operational abilities. We want to welcome family members to join and be involved as a support function for the Battalion. As a member your family can join you at social events and can be as active as they wish. We have a lot of Logistical and support functions that need carrying out. The support company will be the back bone of the battalion and ensures as a member your family can be involved with you. No more leaving them for prolonged periods of time.
Bring them along.
For our founding members who join in 2019, 2020 promises to be an active (If you choose), sociable and career enhancing year. We are organising trade, sports and corporate specific courses and qualifications along with events purely for fun! We have lot's planned and many benefits our fantastic community can offer. Civilian life is difficult, with the support of the battalion and your fellow members you will no longer have to deal with it alone.
