Fantastic to see such a successful weekend for Sector 6 at 362 Elm Tree Squadron πŸ‘

A huge congratulations to all the cadets from 366 Squadron and across the sector who took part - especially those who are now newly trained on the L144, and those who have achieved their Blue and Bronze Shot qualifications. A brilliant achievement and a real credit to the effort and commitment shown by everyone involved πŸ‘πŸŽ―

A big thank you also goes to the staff and volunteers who made the weekend possible.

In particular, a special mention to Fg Off Dan Scholes from 366, who supported the training using his Skill at Arms Instructor (SAAI) and Short Range Conducting Officer (SRCO) qualifications to help deliver a safe and effective weekend of training.

Well done all - great to see the continued development and success across the sector! πŸ’™

At our squadron, we are proud of the incredible female cadets and staff who are part of our team. Every week they show leadership, resilience, teamwork and determination - whether that's on parade, in the clessroom, or taking part in activities across the organisation.

Today is a chance to recognise and celebrate the impact women have within the RAF Air Cadets and beyond.

It’s fantastic to see cadets from 366 Squadron stepping onto the piste and embracing the fast-paced, tactical world of fencing!

Fencing is a sport that demands agility, focus, discipline, and respect β€” qualities that our cadets work hard to develop every week. From mastering footwork and perfecting their en garde stance to learning the importance of timing and strategy, they have shown determination and resilience throughout their training.

Taking part in fencing not only builds physical fitness, but also sharpens mental concentration and decision-making under pressure. It’s brilliant to watch our cadets challenge themselves, support one another, and grow in confidence with every bout.

A huge well done to everyone involved β€” your commitment, sportsmanship, and willingness to try something new truly reflect the spirit of 366 Squadron. We’re incredibly proud of you all and look forward to seeing your skills continue to flourish on the piste! 🀺

πŸŽ‰ Celebrating 50 Years of 366 (King Ecgbert) Squadron! πŸŽ‰

On Saturday night we were proud to mark a truly historic milestone - the Golden Jubilee of 366 Squadron RAFAC - with our 50th Anniversary Annual Dinner, held at Bailey Barracks.

It was a fantastic evening filled with pride, tradition, camaraderie, and celebration. Cadets, families, staff, ex-cadets, supporters and guests all came together to honour half a century of service, achievement, and community.

We were especially honoured that, although he couldn’t join us on the night, our Guest of Honour Air Commodore Lewis, Commandant Air Cadets, still made the effort to dial in virtually and deliver a message to the Squadron - helping us mark this landmark occasion and recognise the outstanding achievements of our cadets over the past year.

The event also included our annual awards ceremony. Each award reflected the hard work and spirit of the young people who continue to make this Squadron so special.
We were privileged to have the recently reformed 366 band play for us, and we also heard speeches from our civilian committee and officers and offered our toasts.

A huge thank you to:
✨ Everyone who attended and made the evening so memorable
✨ Our staff team for the immense work behind the scenes
✨ S17 coffee shop & Bistro for a superb meal
✨ Our Army Reserve colleagues at Bailey Barracks (106 Field Squadron, 75 Engineer Regiment) for their continued support
✨ And most of all - our cadets, past and present, who are the heart of 366 Squadron

Here’s to the next 50 years of opportunity, adventure and achievement.

Post 3!
Over the weekend of the 17th to the 19th of October the cadets of 366 squadron were able to take part in a multi-activity event at Thornbridge Outdoors - outdoor learning centre

The cadets arrived by coach on the Friday evening before settling into their dorms and enjoying pizza cooked by our officers.

The next day they split into 3 groups to take part in low ropes, obstacle and problem solving tasks, high ropes, Jacob's ladder and the cargo net, and caving at Giant's Hole in the Peak district.

The teams rotated through the activities through Saturday and Sunday, enjoyed some hearty meals and had time to socialise.

Volunteers at 366 squadron love to organise these events for the cadets, who learn new skills, teamwork, and have a chance to get to know each other outside their usual environment and comfort zones.

This weekend was only possible through the very kind support of The Ulysses Trust
who change lives through enabling outdoor challenge, exploration and adventure and our shared motto:
"To strive, to seek, to find, and not to yield".
Please find the first batch of photographs from the weekend. More to follow!
