What's next for Wincombe? 🛝

Thank you to everyone who stopped to talk to councillors on Saturday at Wincombe. Your feedback is being collated and will be a really useful part of the consultation.

There is still time to take part in our survey about the future redevelopment of the play equipment and associated spaces at Wincombe Recreation Ground.

We want to hear what people value about the park, what could be improved, what prevents people from using it, and what they would like to see considered for the future.

The consultation is not asking people to choose between designs. Instead, your feedback will help establish community needs, priorities and aspirations to inform future design and decision-making.

The survey closes on Wednesday 30th September.

The next Full Council meeting will take place on Tuesday at 7pm in the Council Chamber at Shaftesbury Town Hall. This meeting is open to the public, and all are welcome to attend either in person or remotely via Microsoft Teams. We encourage residents to attend and stay informed about key decisions affecting our town.

🏗️ Mampitts Community Hub – construction update

Construction of the new Mampitts Community Hub will begin on Monday 14th September.

The new hub will provide a valuable community facility for local activities, events, services and community engagement.

Works will take place Monday to Friday, between 7.30am and 5pm. Residents may notice increased construction traffic, deliveries, contractors and temporary construction noise.
To help minimise disturbance:
▪️Significant noise-generating works, such as piling, will be kept to a minimum before 9am.
▪️General construction activities will begin from 8am.

The site is now fully fenced for safety and security. Every effort will be made to minimise disruption and keep the area safe throughout the works.

Our Councillors are holding another face to face pop-up event this Saturday at Wincombe. Councillors will be available to chat about what works, what doesn't and what should come next, and answer any questions you may have.

Saturday 12th September Midday – 2pm with Cllrs Elaine Barrett, Jenny Daultrey, Virginia Edwyn-Jones, Nigel Heritage, and Greg Williams.
