Settle Town Council

Settle Town Council 'Making Settle a better place to live and work!'

Settle Town Council is your local Parish Council. Are you familiar with what we do? We'd like to hear from you.

We own and manage the Market Place including the running of Settle's famous Tuesday Market. We own and manage open spaces in Settle. These include play parks, woodlands and allotments. The council meets on a monthly basis to act as a voice for the community. We are your local level of government. We value everybody's voice in our community and welcome all local residents to our monthly meetings.

We are developing a Town Investment Plan for Settle. The plan will help guide future funding bids by ensuring they are targeted to local priorities.

To make sure the investment plan reflects local priorities, we are inviting residents, business owners and visitors to share their views on their local town and how you think it could be improved.

We're holding some drop-in events where you can find out more and share your views on:
- Tuesday 16 June, 10am to 2pm, Settle Market, Market Square
- Saturday 11 July, 10am to 12pm, Settle Library, Limestone View

Or, have your say online at https://www.northyorks.gov.uk/community-and-volunteering/community-projects/town-investment-plans-0/vision-future-settle

Good morning from Settle Market. Whilst we can't make any promises for the rest of the day, the weather is currently dry and warm. So, a perfect chance for you to come down to the Market where we have a really good selection of stalls on offer. If you have any spare gaps in your garden, Maureen's plants stall has lots of plants ready and waiting to fill them. Izzy is back with her homemade cakes and scones, and John has some brilliant gifts for Father's Day including Plants pots with your own message added or if you are an Arsenal fan, a great frame of the recent premiership title.

With it being half term, we have a few traders on holiday, but we still have a great selection of stalls to entice you. How about a fresh salad for your tea or how about a mouth watering fruit salad. Nick, our fruit and veg trader has plenty of fresh produce available including strawberries, melon, cherries and lots of other fruit. πŸ“πŸ’πŸ‰πŸ˜‹πŸ˜‹

Settle Market is always seeking out new traders, and one of the newest recruits is Lizzie from Barson Laithe Eggs. Lizzie is not new to Market trading and started trading approximately 15 years ago and now trades at Settle and Skipton Market. Lizzie has a wonderful selection of products available including Eggs and Bacon. Fancy something slightly different, try her Duck Eggs.

How do you like your Eggs? Fried, Scrambled, Poached?

In addition, Lizzie also sells Honey, Chutneys, Jam and Lemon Cheese, Tea Biscuits, Ginger parkin, Shortbread, Eccles Cakes and lots more.

Just another one of our professional traders happy to serve you with a smile and offering a friendly personnel service that makes your local market the place to shop.

So come on down to the Market and support your local traders and the rest of the shops and retailers within our lovely Town Centre.
