This month, the nursery has been focusing on growth, differences and changes over time. As part of our learning, we have been raising caterpillars and observing their incredible transformation into butterflies.
On Friday, we were excited to see that all of our butterflies had emerged from their chrysalises! The children thoroughly enjoyed watching them grow and change, learning all about the butterfly life cycle along the way.
Yesterday, we released the butterflies into their new homes. The children were delighted to watch them take flight, and it was a wonderful opportunity to celebrate everything they had learned.
Unfortunately, one of the Preschool butterflies has a damaged wing and is unable to fly. The children have shown great care and compassion by creating a comfortable habitat for it. This has provided a valuable opportunity to learn about what butterflies need to stay healthy and how we can care for living things.
We have had lots of fun throughout this experience and are very proud of how engaged and caring the children have been during this special learning journey. 🦋💛
