π Bus shelter improvements coming soon across Seaton Valley
Weβre pleased to confirm that Seaton Valley Community Council has secured up to Β£52,300 of Bus Service Improvement Programme (BSIP) funding to refurbish our stone bus shelters across Seaton Valley.
The project will see roofs replaced and repairs carried out to stone shelters across our villages, including the two currently unserviced shelters in Seaton Sluice which we know residents have raised concerns about.
We expect work to begin within the next few weeks, subject to final arrangements with the contractor. While individual shelters are being worked on, they will need to be closed and, where necessary, arrangements will be made for buses to stop at a safe temporary location nearby. We appreciate your cooperation while the work is ongoing.
The project is being funded through the Bus Service Improvement Programme, with funding from Northumberland County Council, the North East Mayoral Strategic Authority and the Department for Transport.
A welcome investment in improving local facilities across Seaton Valley. ππ‘
