Not only are Reform claiming projects are their own, they are running a mock using the council as their own scape goat, just because he didn’t like the colour of her door.

We have been contacted about the terrible road signage at Dalton Park/Jade buisness park. We have emailed the new Cllrs for Murton with the request below and also notified DCC highways.

We no longer have access to our emails or phone numbers. We appreciate that some people need help and have asked for it straight after the elections using social media and messaging but we don’t have access to officers or the resources as we once did.

We will continue to help where we can, we are still honourbound to support the community that we love.

As former councillors, we are incredibly proud our final neighbourhood budget project was approved shortly after the elections.

This project will see the demolition of the old, worn-out MUGA and the er****on of a brand new, metal-framed MUGA on the Seaham Leisure Centre site. It was initiated out of a deep sense of injustice, while the coalition running County Hall cancelled the much needed leisure transformation project in Seaham, they continued to spend hundreds of thousands of pounds in other areas.

We felt our community deserved better. This new facility represents a small but meaningful legacy, and a sign that we will always have our community at heart.

Below is just an example and not the finished plan.

Hang on - so the new Cllrs for Seaham (REFORM) are boycotting Diversity, Equality and Inclusion training.

DEI is a commonly used abbreviation that stands for diversity, equity, and inclusion:

Diversity: Diversity is the presence of differences that may include, but are not limited to, race, gender, gender identity, sexual orientation, religion, ethnicity, nationality, socioeconomic status, language, physical or mental ability, and age. Diversity may also include differences in political perspective, learning preferences, personality, and communications preferences.

Equity: Equity promotes justice, impartiality, fairness, and equal access to opportunities, advancement, and participation. Equity addresses structural inequalities and barriers through fairness in procedures, processes, practices, and the distribution of resources.

Inclusion: Inclusion is creating and fostering an environment in which everyone, including members of traditionally underrepresented or marginalized groups, feels respected, welcome, and that they belong.

That means all of YOUR CHILDREN that are in either Nursery, Primary or Secondary education, and have any sort of Special Educational Needs will be at a disadvantage.

There could be some chilling effects or some kind of negative impacts of the overall anti-DEI efforts on how things look for kids with disabilities in schools.

Another fear of ours is that the anti “DEI movement” will lead to a return of the stigmas and segregation of students with disabilities that occurred before the 2010 Equality Act requiring schools to provide free - supportive and funded appropriate education for students with disabilities.

I can’t believe this is happening.
